Tui Nature Retreat HWB - surrounded by native trees and nature, steps from beach

Tui Nature Retreat, a quirky yet fabulous home, perfect for those who would like to disconnect from devices (WIFI available, however very limited phone coverage) and reconnect with nature and fellow travelers.

We offer a wide range of board games, outdoor games and a couple of yoga mats to keep the family entertained. Stroll beside the stream and you will reach the crystal clear waters of Hot Water Beach within just 2 minutes.





At Tui Nature Retreat you are surrounded by a recreational reserve, filled with native trees such as Pohutukawa and native birds such as Tui, Piwakawaka and Kereru. Listen to the song of the Tui and the sound of the waves whilst doing your morning yoga, reading your favorite book in the sunny window seats or simply relax in the bean bags. Grab the spades and dig yourself a natural hot pool on the beach or hire a surfboard and catch your perfect wave at sunrise! Wander down the road to Hotties Eatery, Moko Artspace or Hot Waves Cafe for some breakfast or lunch and be sure to check out their open mic nights on a Friday, where locals gather and jam.

The track to Cathedral Cove, one of the most beautiful beaches of New Zealand, reopened in December 2024, just in time for our summer visitors!



The property features a main house and a tiny house, which are connected through a deck with outdoor dining table and chairs.

The main house has a Queen bedroom, an ensuite bathroom, dining table and a spacious lounge with 2 window seats which can be made up into 2 single beds. The main house also features a fridge, a freezer and basic tea/coffee making facilities including a kettle and a toaster.

The tiny house has a Queen bedroom upstairs (climbing up stairs required).

This is where the cooking facilities are based. Here you will find a kettle, toaster, stove, oven, a dishwasher and a small fridge. We also provide cooking oil, salt, pepper and lots of herbs and spices for your use.



We are happy for you to bring your well behaved dog. Please be aware that there is a dog who lives next door (very friendly)and that the property is not fenced in.



We are a local, family owned holiday home management business and we take great care of all of our homes. We are based in Hahei but can either meet you at the house on arrival or give you the code for the lockbox. Since phone coverage is very limited at the house itself, we recommend to walk to the beach or the HWB carpark should you need to contact us. We are only a 10 minute drive away.
