Close to the Hualien station but inside the hotel is quiet. Many restaurants near the hotel. We especially enjoyed breakfast at the hotel!

Located a stone-throw away from the Hualien train station, the HotelDay has huge rooms, a very nice buffet breakfast and super friendly staff Everything to see & do in Hualien can be done on-foot from there A must stay when visiting Hualien (this is my 2nd stay!)

Great location, awkward room layout

Great location near railway station. Functional room and frictionless staff interactions. Slightly awkward room design does not allow for easy privacy for those taking showers.

It was typhoon period when I stayed. The room is quiet. It's also convenient around to get the food and station. The umbrella should be upgraded or replaced. The one I borrowed was broken when I went out during raining.

I did a ton of research before deciding on Hotel Plus and I am so glad I chose this spot. It's clean, comfortable, spacious, close to amenities, service was amazing, breakfast was really good. Everything about this place was on point. Would book here again.

The hotel is quite ok for the price. However, the carpet on the floor in the room is old and should be replaced. At least there are slippers available so you don't have to touch it.

Pros: Very well located - across the road from the bus station (just behind the Hualien train station). Strip of mochi & pastry shops down the street. Nice, clean, modern looking hotel. Cons: No street level hotel signage, and the door was camouflaged as a rock wall. So walked right past the hotel initially. No room safe. Thin walls (you can hear ppl inside their rooms from the hall way.

The hotel doesn’t have very noticeable signage so took a minute to figure out the entry (it’s not an obvious door). They advertise soundproofed rooms but they are most definitely not soundproofed - I could hear people in the next room having conversations. The room was a great size but smelled musty, there were cracks in the ceiling and bad patched paint jobs. The carpet was quite dirty and there was some mould in the seal around the shower. The staff I came in contact with spoke no English whatsoever which I found weird considering Hualien is a jumping off point for Taroko Gorge where tourists would visit so I would have expected at least minimum basic English. They are also ridiculously strict with their check in times - I was about 30m early and they told me I had to wait. However, the location was good - right across the road from the bus station and a 5 minute walk to the train station. Convenience stores are close by as is a supermarket.
