New 3 bedroom, 2 bath rental property on the Chesapeake Bay, VA and only 1 hour drive from Richmond and 2 hours from Charlottesville!

Professionally managed luxury residence on 7+ private acres with water access on both sides, boasting a private white sand beach and panoramic water views. Over 1,000 feet of boardwalk spanning the property with a brand new pier out over the water for swimming, fishing/crabbing, and boating!

The three bedroom home has an open concept kitchen/LR/DR with exceptional water views overlooking Milford Haven and the Chesapeake Bay.

Well appointed to host up to 8 guests, with 3 bedrooms consisting of one King, two Queens, and a twin over full bunk and two full bathrooms as well as a brand new cedar outdoor shower. Premium shampoo, conditioner, and face/body wash included.

Every attention to detail has been made to outfit the kitchen for the gourmet chef with professional quality cutlery and cookware. Additionally, there is a 5 burner gas grill for barbeques and a large firepit for cooking crab pots or just making smores.

The water surrounding the property is very warm and shallow with white sand underfoot and usually very calm - great for StandUp Paddleboarding, kayaking, or just lounging in it with the kids. Guests can arrange for SUPs and kayaks to be delivered to the home.

Featuring two newly built piers that span the property with decks at each end, there are plenty of areas to sit and relax by the water where you will occasionally spot pods of Bottlenose dolphins swim past. The area has incredible fishing for Striper, Spot, Spotted Trout, and Croaker as well as plenty of Blue crab and local oysters literally in the backyard.

Seafood lovers don't have to worry about catching their own, however, as there is a local fishmonger who sells everything you could want from his curbside trailer in downtown Mathews (5 miles away). Also in Mathews, you will find a Food Lion supermarket and a variety of restaurants and dining options ranging from casual like the pizza at Southwind to fine dining at the White Dog Bistro.

The home is equipped with a medical grade air purifier, WiFi broadband internet with exceptionally fast speed(400 mbps) for streaming and video conferencing as well as dedicated work space (desk) in the 2nd bedroom, and a brand new water system with a reverse osmosis drinking water tap.

Only a short 45 minute drive to Busch Gardens, Water Country, and downtown Williamsburg and an hour from Jamestown.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please wash, dry, and fold any towels you have used during your stay. Strip used bed linens and leave in a pile on the floor. Remake beds with quilts and pillows (no sheets).
Remove the garbage from the house and place in the garbage cans under the front steps. Empty recyclables into recycling bins in garage. Remove any food or drinks from the fridge.
Cover deck furniture, gas grill, and fire pit, Return anything taken from garage. Turn off all lights. Close and lock windows. Lock doors and return key to lockbox. Lock garage padlocks.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Family Getaway

We spent an early Thanksgiving here at Mike's beautiful home. Probably one of the most well equipped vacation homes we have ever visited. The setting is incredibly beautiful, private yet close to shopping and restaurants. definitely will be coming back.

Great Getaway

We totally loved the place. Peaceful, quiet, with beautiful views. The house is very well furnished and well thought out. Our grown grandkids were with us for the first weekend and our children for the second, and everyone loved it.

Perfect trip- the house was well appointed with anything you could need. Our kids (and us) had a blast swimming, fishing, and crabbing. The house was exactly as listed, if not better in person. We are already thinking about our next stay!

Above and beyond expectations

This home was very clean and well organized with everything we could have wanted for a relaxing and fun week away. The location is remote and quiet but also a few minutes drive to grocery store and restaurants. We loved the whole experience!

Coastal Cottage on the Bay

Mathew’s is like home for me. I was not disappointed by this trip. We enjoyed Bay views, sitting on the deck and most importantly building community in the living room. What a great experience! I recommend this property for a couples getaway, families looking to getaway or a girls Trip.

Awesome vacation in nature!

We absolutely loved this property! The house is gorgeous and very comfortable. The property is like vacationing in a private nature reserve, beautiful walk ways and so much wildlife to watch. When we went (mid July) we hardly saw or heard another person. It was absolutely beautiful and a great escape. Communication with the hosts was pleasant and quick. Really a fantastic place, thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us ❤️

Beautiful Property with All the Amenities

This place was a dream! The property was so beautiful and the house had all we needed and more. Our family had a great time! The beach area was much smaller than we were hoping (maybe from recent rains?) but the kids still had a blast. We enjoyed the fire pit and catching crabs right out of the bay. Terrible mosquitoes but we were prepared for that. Would definitely stay here again!

Dream house

A peaceful semi-secluded house with access to calm waters of Chesapeake Bay. You’re about 30 seconds from the water on one side of the house, and a couple of minutes walk down a private boardwalk through a picturesque marsh on the other side of the house. Even though the temperatures were HOT during our stay, we spent a lot of time outdoors on the water learning to SUP and kayakig. We saw dolphins, deer, a bald eagle, osprey, rabbits. It’s a dream location—semi rural but town is only 5 minutes away. The house was immaculate.

Beautiful, tranquil retreat that’s well-stocked!

We have stayed at numerous VRBO properties, but this was one of the best. Unlike some other houses, this host has stocked many items for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Especially in the kitchen, there were numerous staples provided for those who forgot or were unprepared. Games and activities abound, both inside and out. The only frustration was with all the remotes to the TV. Never did figure out the Bose speakers so just used the TV speakers. But we rate this a 10-star home:-).

Quiet and Relaxing

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Mike came to our rescue when the place we initially booked canceled our stay last minute. We were fortunate to be able to stay at his place. It was very quiet and set off the beaten path. We enjoyed an abundance of wildlife-osprey trying to chase away eagles. We were leaving for dinner one night and unfortunately had to scare away the doe with 2 fawns and the 4 rabbits in the yard. Having coffee or a glass of wine on the deck over looking the water was great too. Mike was very responsive with any questions we had. The house is well stocked with everything you need and more. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The accommodations are lovely and very comfortable at this rental. There’s everything imaginable you might need for an stress-free stay. Communication with the owner was easy and very timely. My only complaint is the “private white sandy beach” description is a bit of a stretch, which, in all fairness, may simply be the doings of Mother Nature. Overall, a great stay at this lovely location.

This was our second time at this home. We love the access to water and the sandy bottom for our kids to play in. The house was clean and well appointed. Crabbing and fishing were excellent. Don’t hesitate to book this one!
