Clean, safe, quiet place in a small village. Excellent service. Good choice for one night stop over on the way to pricey Zurich, only 1 hour away by car.
The staff was great. Very kind, and very helpful. They also speak English, which was helpful.
It was easy to check-in and check-out.
We will stay there, again.
It was a pleasant quiet hotel but we were not impressed that when we arrived - before the closure of check-in - we were told that there was no place for us to eat a meal at the hotel. We went a few kilometres into the nearest town and ate well, but when we returned, at 21.00, there was no sign of the bar being open, even though the website advertises restaurants/bar.

Disappointing stay..
Arrived with family for an 8 night stay.. Nice easy and friendly check in.. Went to room which was in a building opposite the hotel.. The room was spacious and well equipped.. The bathroom also spacious..
The room hadn't been correctly cleaned in a while as there were dead and living spiders plus their webs in several places..
Bedding was clean and comfortable.. Bed. Very comfortable..
There was an outside terrace with wooden decking.. This had not been cleaned in years and was extremely slippy when damp.. We could not use it as it brought green mould into the room if we walked on it..
Once we ate at the hotel - a huge disappointment.. Very limited choice and high prices.. We just had a main course after seeing the prices.. The food served was okay but a very limited amount served.. We left hungry..
First morning we discovered that the area always smelled of farm manure.. Not a fault of the hotel but it made the area unpleasant to be outside.. This smell persisted during the whole stay.
We had to pass smokers every day at entrance - disgusting and unacceptable! .. Breakfast was a buffet self service affair.. Staf were friendly enough. The problem was they only took out the very minimum of items (especially the bacon).. Throughout our 8 night stay it was the same problem every day - waiting or having to ask for more.. Additionally the choice was basic and limited.. Never changed day on day - only ever the same choice.. Flies were also an issue.
We had a single night stay in Hotel Rössle this summer. We didn't actually stay at the hotel itself, but in the adjoining guestroom, although we were able to enjoy all the hotel amenities including parking space, average Wi-Fi and a really nice breakfast. The room was OK, clean and fairly comfortable however there was one MAJOR drawback: mosquitoes. We we're unable to sleep because of the continuous biting. We ended up closing all windows despite the summer heat and were only able to sleep after going on a mosquito killing spree. We dispatched over 20 of these little buggers before we could get some rest.
Very simple but clean rooms. The location is really lovely, in a small town that is right at the edge of farms and forests. You can take some beautiful walks through the countryside from foot paths that literally begin right at hotels entrance.
Very nice typical German Gasthof
Rooms detached from main building where reception and restaurant is
Good food for dinner and breakfast
Very friendly staff
HUGE room, slightly outdated but very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the dining room was very nice with good Bavarian food. The village is quaint, not a lot to do there but an easy drive from Stein am Rhine and Schauffhausen.
Amazing hotel, very clean and large rooms and everything was new and shiny. The staff were extremely friendly and the neighborhood was quiet and charming. I would strongly recommend it and would stay here again.
Beautiful hotel - in the middle of 'no where' we thought. But it is apparently very popular with tour groups etc. Our room was in the guesthouse - beautiful spacious room - bottle of water left as a welcome gift. We were a bit surprised that there was no coffee machine, mini bar, etc - given the features of the hotel and room. The restaurant was lovely and very busy. However - it was pricey compared to all our other dinners out on the trip ( a good 30% more).
