Welcome to our cozy yet spacious four-bedroom, three-bath mountain retreat — perfectly situated at the base of Hunter Mountain for the ultimate ski getaway.

Enjoy the best of both worlds: a quiet, scenic setting within walking distance of a movie theater, café, synagogue, and other local favorites. Windham Mountain and other nearby Catskills attractions are just a short drive away.

Après-Ski Comfort Awaits:
Warm up and unwind in our brand-new outdoor sauna or soak in the classic clawfoot tub. Gather around the fire pit for hot cocoa and stories under the stars, or fire up the BBQ for a hearty winter meal.

Inside, our open-concept cabin offers the perfect space to connect and relax. The fully stocked kitchen is ready for family dinners and cozy nights in. Put your feet up by the gas fireplace or settle in on the couch and enjoy a large smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, YouTube, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi at your disposal.

For your peace of mind, there is a security camera facing the driveway. If this presents any concern, please let us know.
Pet fees are $19 per day, per pet.

Owner-managed with no cleaning fees — plus early check-in and late check-out whenever possible to make your ski trip stress-free.

We had a wonderful stay at this very clean and cozy cabin! It was just the perfect summer getaway we were looking for. Mario and Giovanna were very welcoming and helpful with sharing activities to do during our stay. We enjoyed nearby hikes, campfires, cooking and just relaxing with our kids.

Excellent ski getaway

Our family had an excellent winter getaway at this cabin. The check-in process was easy and access to the mountain and the towns made for a great stay. Highly recommend for families with multiple young children.

Great place to stay

Villa Gran Sasso is a great place to stay. Check in was easy and it is hard to beat how close to the mountain it is to Hunter. The rooms were comfortable and the owners were extreamy responsive to any question I had. Thank you for a great experience.

Great Stay

We were celebrating our anniversary, so it was just 2 of us, so this place was more than we needed, but still felt cozy. Mario was very helpful and responsive. The house was very clean and well-appointed. We really enjoyed the style of the house as well. Would definitely rent again when back in the area.

Awesome Stay

We had a wonderful stay with friends. The property is located in the most perfect spot, just minutes from the ski mountain and restaurants and shops in town. The house itself is phenomenal, well stocked, and extremely comfortable. Mario was responsive and generous with his time, and his attention to detail and dedication to making his guests stay as great as possible was evident.

Cozy getaway

We had an amazing little stay! The cabin/house was so cozy and the layout was perfect for my family. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. My little one and fur baby appreciated all the room they had! Mario was an amazing host and answered all our questions and gave us plenty of information on the places around us. Overall, we were very satisfied and will definitely come back!

Great getaway

Fantastic home

Mario's home was beautiful. You could really tell he put a lot of time and effort in decorating each detail. The wrap around porch had great views. Mario was also a great host and incredibly friendly. Highly recommend!

Cozy ski getaway

We stayed three nights at this property over the holiday break and it was the perfect rental for our family’s ski trip to Hunter Mountain. The cabin is so close to the mountain which was very convenient for going back and forth with our kids. Mario was an incredible host; so easy to communicate with and available for any questions we had. The cabin was really clean and super cozy, a perfect ski retreat. Couldn’t have found a better place in the Hunter Mountain area.

Fantastic!

We had a great time at Villa Gran Sasso. I stayed for 4 nights with my wife, toddler, and in-laws (mother, father, sister boyfriend). The space was perfect, the location to hunter mountain was ideal, just 5 mins to drop-off / parking lot. The house was very clean, and had all the essentials. Mario is a great host, clearly experienced and knows what he is doing.I recommend staying at Villa Gran Sasso. I would definitely do it again if I go back to Hunter Mountain.

Stunning immaculately clean cabin; cozy with four bedrooms and three bathrooms!

Mario the owner, was friendly, very accommodating and helpful. His cabin is beautiful immaculate with plenty of room for our family of ten. The kitchen was well stocked with top of the line appliances. The cabin is situated at the base of Hunter Mountain which made skiing and snowboarding convenient. Also the town offered many things to do and the outdoor fire pit was great for getting together, laughing and making s’mores!! Our family excitedly anticipates our yearly ski-cation and our time at the Sasso cabin was wonderful and memorable! We will definitely stay there again

Snow tubing weekend

Cozy and well maintained home, Mario is an outstanding and responsive host! One of the main reasons I booked the property (despite the high cost for one night) was because of the reviews, all of which were spot on. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the exterior fire pit or porch as we hoped due to the rain but the inside was a fun spot for game night with our family of 6 laughing around the table. So much space for 3 adults and 3 teens it was perfect, especially with 3 bathrooms. Our snow tubing adventure at Hunter was not the best thanks to the weather but Mario saved the day with his recco to Kaaterskill falls - we hiked down to the lower falls the next day and it made our weekend! we will be back in the summer to explore more of the outdoors and will definitely return to this cabin. One feature that would have been great is a washer/dryer - we got soaked on the tubing hill and I would have loved to do a quick wash and dry. Other than that no complaints! Highly recommend you book it! (A huge plus was not having an additional cleaning fee as Mario and his wife handle their own!)
