Comfy cabin in the woods with huge party deck

Relax and unwind, enjoying the natural surroundings inside and outside of this cabin. The cabin is furnished much the same as a small house. The living room has upholstered furniture and offers cable TV, internet/wifi and there is also a DVD player. The kitchen includes a full size electric range with oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeepot, toaster, cookware and dinnerware. The dining area has a table with 8 chairs. We provide pillows, blankets and bedspreads. Guests bring their own sheets and towels. 2 bedrooms are on the main floor, one having a king bed and the other having a queen bed. The third bedroom upstairs has 4 single beds. We provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a bath mat. The bathroom has a shower with tub, toilet and sink. Daily maid service is not available but the cabin has a vaccuum for guests to use as they wish.

We are located 6.5 miles south of Huntingdon. We are 5 miles from Allegrippis Trail for biking enthusiasts and Raystown Lake for water sports. The rolling countryside includes creeks and the Juniata River offering many options for hiking, birdwatching, fishing, hunting, boating, whatever the nature-lover desires.

We are approximately 8 miles (15 minutes) from Juniata College and 37 miles (45 minutes) from State College and Penn State University.

Completely furnished with most of the comforts of home, we rent by the night, the week, or the month from March 1 thru December 5 (weather permitting). Our location is a 6.5-acre wooded property. Weekend rates are slightly higher than weekday rates due to demand. We may rent by the month with the rate dependent on the month(s) requested. Call for this pricing, please.

Come to Raystown and enjoy tons of water activities: swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking as well as hiking, biking and bird-watching! You can jump into the Biking Festival at the Allegrippis Trail, enjoy Barbecue specials and other fun activities at the nearby Huntingdon Fairground. . A vacation in Raystown will be one to remember for years to come. Can't take a week off? Visit us for a long weekend or, even better, come during the week for a discounted price!

Raystown Lake is a popular waterway in south central Pennsylvania. The 29 mile long lake and surrounding area are owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with great hiking, hunting, boating, swimming, fishing, and bird watching. Other popular attractions include caverns, railroading, horse-back riding, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts. Fishing tournaments are frequently held in the area. During your stay, you may be blessed to see a bear swimming across the lake or a bald eagle returning to its nest.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods
For the price this was well worth it! I stayed here with my husband and two grandsons for three nights in this rustic cabin. The driveway to the cabin is primitive, and the directions the owner's provided were clear. The cabin had everything we needed to be comfortable including a full kitchen (with an auto drip coffeemaker), full bath and entertainment center. Woods surround this cabin along with three other cabins that are comfortably spaced apart. This would be a great rental for a family reunion or group get together - where others can rent the other cabins! Raystown Lakes beaches & marina are about 20 min from the cabin. The grocery store is about a 10 min ride (if that). Lincoln Caverns are about 20-30 min from cabin and are worth the visit! This is a great place to stay to enjoy the lake, the peace of the woods & time with friends and family! We are going back next year! ☆☆☆☆☆

Exactly what we were hoping for
Comfy, cozy, cabin in the woods. The property is wonderfully secluded in a rustic relaxing setting. The cabin was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of fishing. Linda is a wonderful host as well! Thanks again for the clean up after the storm.

Not clean and Just Not worth What you are Paying
When you pay that much for a property, you expect a minimum level of quality and this is more of a hunting cabin than a place to stay. Walls have holes in them, the carpets are cut up pieces put on the floor and everything in the place is from the 60s or 70s. It does have decent wifi and cellular service and the water pressure was good and there was hot water. The location is convenient to the lake, but you probably need an SUV to get up to the cabin due to gravel road and holes. We had to go out and buy clorox wipes to clean a bit the first day. Even hand soap was not provided.

Perfect Rain Weekend Retreat
Our annual Veterans Day hike was a washout…this was the perfect last minute rain break for us to still hang out with friends. Played Risk, Poker and card games on the porch. When the rain was not pouring, we spent time around the fire. The house everything we needed and our hosts had everything in good order for our arrival. It exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend for a getaway. Thanks to our hosts for a great stay.

Cozy and Clean
We came for a fishing tournament at Raystown and this was closer and more convenient than staying at a hotel. It is rustic and vintage, but the bedding and cabin were clean, shower water pressure was strong and hot and it had everything needed to cook our meals.
