Great base for Juniata College visit
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here while visiting our daughter for family weekend at Juniata College. My daughter also stayed over one night. Extremely clean and well equipped house, beds were very comfortable. We will definitely stay again when we visit her. Only slight thing to be aware of is it's a pretty long gravel road to get to the house so be aware if that's an issue for your car (it was fine for us).

Wonderful.
Overall, we loved everything. The owners were so nice and easy to communicate with. I felt a real connection with the history of the cabin, Animal House. We love all animals! Thank you so much for allowing us to share your special place. The Bunkhouse was so nice. We plan on returning!

Retreat in the Woods
I can not say enough how nice this property is. Melissa is very prompt in communicating. The cabin was very clean. The cabin was cutely decorated. There are so many things provided and also notes explaining procedures that it really made me feel like she thought of everything to make people happy and comfortable! The outside and deck area are impressive and had plenty of seating. The cabin is in a great location for a multitude of outdoor activities and also not far from stores and restaurants. We had a wonderful few days and wished we could have stayed longer!

Family stayed for a long weekend. Had everything we needed. The covered outdoor patio was the best. Spent lots of time reading and playing card games. Loved all the little notes to help acclimate us to the property.

Perfect getaway spot!
This is our 3rd year to the area, and by far our favorite house thus far. The house was extremely clean, and well stocked. Our kids loved playing out back, and so did the dogs! We had friends camping over on the Juniata river, so it took us about 30min to get there, and 40 to seven points. It was so nice to have everything there we needed, next time will save me a ton of packing! Our only issue is the bed was a tempurpedic or something, and my husband who is 3 times my size would go to bed first - I would roll into him, almost like an air mattress would. Thankfully most nights I was so exhausted from activities I would fall asleep putting my boys down or on the couch 😝. Overall, amazing home, and Melissa was so sweet to work with! We will be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Purchased a new mattress and frame. We found someone had broken the frame in the center! Wish we knew sooner. We’re good to go now.

Fantastic!
We were pleasantly surprised. The directions to the property were spot on, and when we arrived the property was exactly as described. There was plenty of things to do at the property, and as an extra bonus there was an awesome booklet with the history of the property. The grandchildren enjoyed making smores in the firepit, as well as playing the games supplied by the host. The property was far enough away from the busy areas, but close enough to be able to run to town for necessities (ran out of eggs...LOL) It was an awesome weekend, and we will be returning.

From the start, Communication was A+ from Melissa. She was very quick to respond to any question. The house was very clean and the AC worked great! The kitchen was loaded with dishes, pots and pans, spices, saran wrap, foil, even cooking oil, brown sugar...little things you may have forgotten, etc. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of blankets and towels. The check in/out process was easy. Very nice just having a doorcode. We LOVED the porch area. That's where we spent most of our time. The fire pit area was nice. Plenty of seating and there were marshmallow sticks. We also had our son and his family stay in the "bunkhouse" which they loved.Such a great space!! The only downfall is that it's wasnt close to Tatman Run where we swam everyday(25mins away) but I knew when I booked it was a little farther. Friday and Saturday nights the atvs were pretty loud going back and forth, but I already knew that from looking at reviews. We have rented many cabins and this one had alot of "stuff", you could almost say "clutter" but it was part of the decor and it really didnt get in the way.

Hello, I believe in your review you mentioned a lot of “stuff” and called it “clutter”. I am a professional designer, organizer and run a Commercial Cleaning and Organizing business so in a panic I called the guest. After talking to the guest, I found what she was talking about, items you are referring to was decor on the top of the kitchen cabinets and a few knickknacks on things like the fireplace mantle, A centerpiece, a runner, and a Lazy Susan with salt and pepper on the dinning room table. I like a little bit of design to our property because I hate going somewhere where it looks like a hospital sterile room. Cold uninviting. I prefer some comforts of home. I hope most people do. No clutter, no stuff, just clean and Warm comfort . Thanks

Quiet place to stay!
This cottage is in a very peaceful location, no traffic noise. We had breakfast on the screen- in porch while listening to many birds singing in the woods. It is very clean and has a great kitchen. We would go back again.

Home away from Home
First, the communication with Melissa was amazing. She responded to every question I had in a super timely fashion. She was also accommodating when I asked for an additional hour for checkout. Second, once we arrived at the house it instantly felt like we were at home. A kitchen fully stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, spices/seasonings, a washer and dryer, TVs, and pictures on the walls. I brought my own dog bowls, but she had 2 bowls and a kennel if needed. She had seat covers just in case the dogs got on the couch. And outside, attached to one of the trees there is a rope with a latch so you can put the dog outside and wander around a little. Third, the lights on the deck, at night, are amazing. It really set a scene. Last, there were plenty of sheets, blankets, towels, and cleaning supplies. I highly reccomend it.

A beautiful cabin weekend at Raystown Lake
This was our first go at renting a cabin and the entire process went so smoothly. Upon booking we were messaged by the host confirming our details. A few days before we recieved detailed instructions about check in. Upon getting to the cabin we were absolutely floored by how nice it looked. The pictures online do not do this rental any justice! The style inside is rustic, but all the amenities are modern. We loved sitting on the fully covered porch / outdoor room. Our dogs loved the soft couches and the fresh air. I loved learning thr history of The Animal House (read the book that was left on the table!) Our host messaged us about fun things to do in the area the weekend we stayed and when we advised them about a very very minor hiccup with putting out the garbage they were fast to respond with an apology and a solution. Very good at communicating and fast to respond. There was more than ample room for our bass boat and the location was only around 20 minutes from Snyders Run Launch. Along the way to the launch are all the local spots for gear, gas and food. Could not ask for a better location. We are looking forward to possibly coming back next year, it was just that well done a cabin!

So relaxing
Melissa's Vrbo is welcoming, relaxing, quiet. The TLC put into this home where the owner has fond childhood memories (story in the guestbook) is evident by all the little touches inside and out. You won't be disappointed if you choose this home. It is closer to Lake Raystown Resort and Tatman Run than the visitor's center and Seven Points but we only went there one day and didn't mind the drive. We enjoyed hiking and sight seeing on the east side of the lake.

This cottage was everything I wanted and more. The cottage was extremely clean, quiet and the owners had supplied extras just in case you forgot something. The outside was also wonderful from the patio to the firepit. Relaxing by a fire at night was a great way to end the day. I would recommend this cabin to all. The cabin was excellent, the property is very well kept. The cabin was very clean in a very peaceful mountain side location. Only 26 minutes from tatman run boat launch. Made for a great weekend fishing trip.

Great summer vacation
We came to the cottage for a week for our summer vacation. The cottage was incredibly clean and comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. It was evident that everything is maintained nicely and well-managed. We had so much fun exploring the lake and nearby towns. There is a lot to do with kids (hiking, caverns, swimming at the lake, Horseshoe curve, Del Grosso park, etc.) and our time at the cottage was relaxing and fun. We made nightly fires in the pit, hung out on the spacious covered patio, and spent a lot of time outdoors. We can't wait to return again!

Woodland Cottage Getaway
Our family had a great time at the Cottage on Pine this summer! The house itself is much roomier than the pictures may seem. For those not into ‘roughing it’, this modern, updated cottage is a perfect solution. We especially enjoyed the covered deck and the stone patio. We ate outside every day, even when it rained! It was a short drive to all the sights along Raystown Lake, but completely worth it. Melissa, the owner, was very easy to contact and communicate with. The property had everything you need and was clean. We enjoyed our stay. If you bring a boat, the nearest public boat launch for Raystown Lake was a solid 25 minute drive. We didn't mind though - it was nice to come back to a comfortable setting in the woods.

Depending on which attractions you want to see at Raystown Lake depends on the distance. 15 minutes to the closest beach and boat landing to an hour ride to go the whole way around the lake. I always suggest looking at a google search.

My husband and I just spent a week at this wonderful cottage. It was a much needed time away and we absolutely loved it. Super clean and fully stocked kitchen. Beautiful and comfortable!
I was here with two friends and a small dog, and we had a wonderful stay. The porch was so beautiful and peaceful to sit out and enjoy the birdcalls-- the lights are such a great touch. We did a little cooking and found the kitchen very well equipped. As city folk we had to adjust a little to the idea that restaurants were not nearby, but the Dollar General supplied us well, and the rural location is definitely scenic. There were a few other buildings nearby but as soon as we turned the corner into our driveway we felt totally secluded, even though it was Memorial Day weekend. The wifi was better than we'd feared given the mountains, enough for one of us to stream video, though we enjoyed dipping in to the DVD collection instead. I could imagine this being a great spot for a family. We recommend Trough Creek State Park for some beautiful hiking!

If you go just a couple miles past the Dollar Store there are tons of places to shop. There's a Giant Foods, Walmart, Tractor Supply, State Store, Beer Distributors, Tons of Sit down Restaurants, Hoss's Steakhouse, Sheetz, Fast Food and to many more to name. Oh 😢 I have to say I’m disappointed that we got a four star review. We have never had anything but five stars . We added special amenities before your arrival at your request. Items like special cookers, large kettle pots for large groups and other items. Actual the washer and dryer was something you had said you needed so I pushed my husband to add it. (I wanted it too) I did contact you a number of times to make sure everything was good and you responded was everything was perfect and place was beautiful. We work very hard to make sure our guest are extremely pleased. We have actually been told that it is nicer than what people had expected from our online presence. Sorry you didn’t feel we deserved a 5 star review. Safe travels!

Best rental we’ve ever stayed in.
They really do have everything you need. It’s like being a guest in someone’s actual home vs a basic rental property. I will say, just be aware that there are ATVs that will run up and down the road and the trail by the house, which was only really during the weekend, in case you have a skittish pup. We just put our one in the house and she was fine. Our other is fearless so she would sit and watch them. I really do wish all other rentals were as amazing as this one! We will definitely stay here again!
