Absolutely beautiful Villa with a stunning view. The Villa has everything you need, also for longer stays. The whirlpool is a perfect place to relax after a long day around the diamond circle. We can highly recommend this accommodation und will be back when in Iceland again.

Extremely comfortable. Every area feels spacious, and I really appreciated the furniture and interior styling. The very high ceiling, modern design and overall colour palette work beautifully together. The living room has huge floor-to-ceiling windows with a wide open view. Sitting there for dinner with a candle lit was incredibly relaxing. It gives you exactly that feeling of: this is what a home in Iceland should feel like. One major advantage of being in a geothermal area is having plenty of hot water for showers. The bathroom also has a separate door leading directly to a private outdoor hot tub, which is incredibly convenient. Unfortunately, we did not manage to make proper use of it this time. Next time, I am definitely making time for it. The only thing I could not figure out was how to switch on the heated towel rack. But that is nowhere near enough to stop me giving this place a 10 out of 10.

The house is incredible. Every detail is well thought through. The amenities are of high quality. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, which is not usual in Iceland. We loved the hot tub under the bright stars and Aurora. We liked the remote location; still it’s close to Husavik and Akureyri. Perfect location to explore the north of Iceland!

This was a lovely place to spend my birthday, gorgeous private unit and geothermal outdoor hot tub. Was a bit on the pricey side but if your looking to splurge the views were absolutely gorgeous.

The views and the privacy were incredible. The host was responsive and helpful. Gave clear instructions on getting there. Created amazing memories staying at the Svartaborg cabins.

My family did an 8-days ring road of Iceland in early April 2026, and this place/villa was, out of all the 7 hotels, hands down best hotel we stayed. My husband who doesn't usually leave reviews asked me to post a review for this place! Everything was spotless clean, modern and well equipped. We could definitely feel the owners' thoughtful touches throughout the villa (wooden chess set, warm blanket, olive oil for cooking, artistic coffee/tea cups, Reykjavik candle company 'hotel-lobby' room scent, cookbook for reference... ) And the hot-tub!! I think I want to re-visit Iceland just to use this place's hot-tub. Everything was so perfect and lovely. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Relaxing Svartaborg

An amazing relaxing stay at Svartaborg. I love the location with the option to relax, or have a drive with so many things to see only a short drive away. We’ll be back. The houses themselves are stunning, and a dip in the hot tub tops off this amazing property/location.

Unique location with 360 degree views of the surroundings. Quiet location, clean fully equipped villa with all amenities including a full kitchenette, comfortable and cozy beds. Easiest check in and check out. Host is super responsive and willing to go the extra steps to make guests happy. Would certainly very highly recommend staying at any of these villas when in Lake Myvatn area.

Amazing! Wish we had stayed longer.

This stay was amazing, the decor was very chic and had us wandering around complimenting each of the design choices. Every detail had been thought of - from robes to use in the geothermal hot tub (a great experience even in winter) through to slippers and hot water bottles. The view from the windows was also great and we saw the northern lights during our stay. We booked this for my partners birthday and although it’s pricey it’s 100% worth it for a special occasion.

Beautiful, modern micro-house, with lots of space. Excellent heating in the cold weather. Amazing views from huge windows. Great kitchen for cooking, which you will need, as there are no restaurants close by.

This was one of the most anticipated stops along our road trip. We were only able to stay one night due to availability but we would have loved to stay longer. The place was very quiet, peaceful and romantic. The space was mindfully designed and very visually appealing. I can tell the owner out a lot of thought into the interior design. The heated floors + heated towel rack made the place even more cozy. We enjoyed the stars in the jacuzzi but unfortunately didn’t see the northern lights that night (although I’m sure it is a great place to see them when they are out). The only downside was some of the pots were covered in food from previous guests. All of the plates, cups and silverware were spotless though.

Beautiful, peaceful location and well equipped accommodation for a lovely relaxing stay. Appreciated the attention to detail (for example black out curtains for the door - handy as we were there mid summer when sun doesn’t set). They also responded very quickly to correct the bed configuration. Will be back!

The house (House No. 3) was absolutely beautiful, very clean, and the view was simply wonderful. The check-in process was easy, and we received all the necessary information before our arrival, which made everything very convenient. The hot tub was fantastic, the kitchen was well equipped, and overall we highly recommend staying here. Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)

Wow! This was by far our favorite stay on our 10 day trip in Iceland. A very sexy, quiet, cozy cottage with privacy and amazing views. Nicely stocked kitchen, we appreciated having the essentials provided such as coffee pods, sugar, salt and pepper. The shower was the best I've been in for a long time, I could have stayed in there forever. The space was so peaceful - we didn't want to leave!

Amazing place. Super spacious and equipped with everything. Hot tub was great. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our time here so much. Quiet and peaceful with great views. Great location; close to Husavik and Akureyi. 20 minutes to Godafoss Waterfall.
