Despite initial skepticism, renting at this location exceeded my expectations. The space was fantastic, it was very spacious, a full apartment to yourself, no complaints about this.

My only complaint is the place did not have any coffee. We had to go 6 miles for a cup of coffee the next morning. No coffee in the village at all until 9:30

We have stayed here before and it is a convenient location when driving to or from the north or west. Easy to access and the host gives good instructions. There are 2 induction rings and a microwave. Filter coffee machine but no coffee provided as is normal in Iceland. No oven. Grocery shop nearby. Swimming pool nearby. There are no boat trips to view seals anymore but the Seal Centre can give you a map of places to drive to. Cabin is comfortable, quiet, warm and has good blackout curtains. All was clean. Had two small hand towels provided which was only negative.

Spacious home that was very clean and modern. I would definitely stay again. I will say that when we arrived, we had to park on the street as the driveway was blocked off and they were doing construction on it. Not a big deal but we were not aware of this prior to arriving.

Nice View!
Awesome views! This place would be a 10 with the exception of the beds and the check in process. I had never received and email with instructions and had to call Hotels.com to contact property manager to get code for key to get in. The number associated with the property is incorrect! I would think after now reading other reviews that this would be fixed, but I guess not. With not receiving email also did not get wifi password. I had to knock on another persons door and ask them for password. This put us on edge seeing how when we arrived it was in the middle of a snow storm andwe really wanted to get out of our car and into the room. If these issues were corrected I would give this place a 12 on a scale of 10! The town was great and room was not far from essentials.

Google maps mistakes
Google map provides inaccurate location which is the back hill of that property. We drove two rounds and couldn’t find the property until we stopped at where google maps tell us, then we climbed up the hills and found the property was located on another side of hill. There is a road that drive towards the property. We were also trying to reach the property with phone number provided by hotels.com but the number was wrong. We didn’t receive any email from this property directly for check in instruction as well. We called other nearby property then from them to get this property phone number. What a disappointment! I cannot imagine what if we arrive at midnight how we can find it

These are brand new (as of 2021) homes in Hvammstangi. The host's communication was great and appreciated; GPS coordinates were provided which helped because the roads are not yet on Google maps. A great contactless vacation rental... keys are on-site and the pin code to unlock is sent ahead of time. Great for late night check ins. Heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. Bring your own coffee or expect to head to the gas station in the morning. Would definitely recommend.

The appartement is just fine but we were very desapointed about the view which is very different from the one shown in the pictures. There are some construction in front of the house so it very dusty and the view on the construction is not nice

Hunting Northern Lights
We picked this little town to hunt the Northern Lights. While we weren’t lucky enough to see any during our stay we did like the property we stayed in very much. If you happen to be in Hvammstangi we highly recommend this place.
