About this property
River Front Cabin with Fish Pond
A beautiful and private property welcoming a group of family and/or friends looking for a relaxing getaway. The cabin is beside the lulling Fall River and surrounded by tall standing pines and aspens. Located less than a mile from I-70, easy to get to with the county-maintained, paved road all year round. It is only minutes away from hiking, fly fishing, rafting, and skiing attractions, offering a true mountain experience in all four seasons. It is about 30 minutes West of Denver and Red Rocks Park and 5 minutes from Idaho Springs' historical downtown, museums, and Indian Hot Springs. It is 15 miles from the Echo Mountain Ski resort with night skiing and only 30-40 minutes from several world class, ski resorts (Winter Park, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain to name a few). Outside, you will find the naturally maintained landscape, a "private island" in the middle of the river with plenty of seating space, hammocks, as well as gas and charcoal grills. The property is backed to the forest with two gold mine shafts offering a historic perspective of this region. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking with all appliances including pots, pans, utensils, and dishes with a spacious dining area and furnished deck for morning coffee or an outdoor meal. The living room is cozy with plenty of seating space and a 65 inch smart TV. All linens and towels are provided.

Beautiful, peaceful cabin with a creek and pond—so relaxing and quiet. Great location: private, but close to everything. Clean, cozy, A perfect nature escape!
Lovely setting and beautiful cabin! Spacious and comfortable with majestic views. So many amenities and a fully working kitchen. Surrounding grounds were astoundingly beautiful. Heavenly.
It is a beautiful house with a nice view. I very much enjoy the creek that runs past it and the pine forest. The owner was also communicative and hospitable.
I stayed here with my husband and sister. The property is exactly as described. The location is very convenient to everything yet still secluded feeling. The kitchen is well stocked and having laundry was a plus. The outdoor area is fantastic, with the river, pond and bridges - it was a relaxing place to spend time.
Celebrated a birthday with some friends, property is beautiful, awesome views , river and pond were amazing, would love to go again sometime. House was very clean, and comfortable. We had a great stay
We had a great stay! The home was exactly as advertised and very clean. James was very communicative. The creek flowing nearby was very pretty, we’d love to come back in the summer and have a cookout there!
It's a really nice place to relax and have a great time. Love that the river was next to the house. Thank you for letting us stay at this beautiful house. We will love to come back again.
This property was wonderful. Beautiful location. And the owners have done a great job setting the cabin up for rentals. Very inviting and perfectly stocked. Very magical location. Great owners.
What a wonderful time we had at the cabin. The grounds are simply stunning. So many things for everyone to enjoy: young children through grandparents. Beds were soft and inviting, all spaces were clean and well equipped, and it was very easy to locate from the main roads. We would definitely return for another family visit!
We enjoyed our stay so much at the riverside cabin! The location can’t be beat! Close to shops! Great outdoor entertaining area. The home was neat and clean and the hosts really thought of everything! We had everything we needed! We hope to come back very soon !
This was a last minute getaway and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. It was peaceful and quiet yet close enough to Idaho Springs to pop into town for a bite to eat. The cabin was immaculate, kitchen well stocked and beds so comfortable! We’re looking forward to coming back later this summer/fall. Thank you!!!
The house met all our needs in every way and the outdoor setting was just beautiful! We spent many hours sitting by the river, playing outdoor games, swinging, sleeping in the hammocks, watching wildlife & feeding the fish in the pond.
It was so relaxing. Being close to town was a plus too. Highly recommend this property as it has so much to offer!
We could not have asked for a better place to spend time with family. The cabin was beautiful but walk outside of the cabin and it was Heaven. The river running behind it and the private island was more than just amazing. Our family would stay here again and again. Thank you for sharing such a piece of paradise with us.
We loved this cabin! Everyone in our group commented on how comfortable the beds and pillows are. This cabin was immaculately clean and there was plenty of room to spread out. The host was extremely responsive and very accommodating with our needs. If he hadn’t been so easy to work with, we may have had to cancel this family trip. All of us would like to plan a summer trip to take advantage of the decks and the river and pond! We highly recommend this home for families. We had a wonderful time.
We had the best time at this house. It was plenty spacious, clean, and had a ton of amenities. We rented this house to have a quiet getaway and it was a perfect spot. It was only 30 minutes from Red Rocks and Golden, CO. Great shopping in Idaho Springs. We loved the river out back, the small pond and outdoor fireplace. We will be coming back to this house, for sure.

Great outdoor experience
The outdoor area of this Vrbo and location is absolutely amazing. It's right on the river with breathtaking views but close enough to town and the 4th of July celebration in Idaho Springs was amazing. We all had a spectacular time.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we had issues checking in. We hope all is well with the host.
Absolutely paradise! The house was comfortable, beds & pillows were perfect, very clean and met our needs for space. The location was great. Close to Idaho Springs for dinners out and shopping. Close to I-70 for excursions and adventures. The back property was a Colorado heaven. A small river runs through and level land for sitting riverside and area for the kids to run around and explore. We caught 8 small trout (catch & release) and the kids enjoyed feeding the koi fish daily. Each fish was given a name. Because of county fire restrictions, we couldn’t have any outdoor fires or use a grill. We would definitely book this VRBO again. James was very attentive. Just FYI- no air conditioning but they did have fans and nights cooled down to the 50’s.
My husband, daughter (lives in Denver) and I stayed at the River Front Cabin for a long weekend when we came to visit her. The house was spotless, so cozy and comfortable, and the outside property was simply amazing. The river was very high while we were there, so the sound was so relaxing as we sat on the deck or in chairs down by the river drinking coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The house is close to gorgeous hiking areas (St. Mary’s glacier is a must see!) and the cute mountain towns of Idaho Springs and Georgetown. The owners have created a perfect getaway for relaxing, with hammocks, clusters of Adirondack chairs, and even fishing supplies. We were sad to have to leave!
Something for everyone here! As a family it's tough to find a place where everyone can be happy. Our group consists of three really active adults and two who are happy with a good book. This property was perfect for a much needed break. My husband, daughter and her boyfriend were able to fish while my oldest daughter and I read. We shopped, did a mine tour, spent an additional at the Coors brewery in Golden. We had a visit from a moose and fed chipmunks. This hike was the perfect spot. Can't wait to visit again.
We really needed a quick getaway and it was a miracle that this place was available on such short notice. It’s a private and quiet property
, but is very easy to get to and is less than 10 min drive from town. James was very kind and attentive, he even reached out to us and offered us an early , free -of -charge check in since the house was ready and it was very cold outside that day. The house was sparkling clean with white linen and a very generous supply of towels and toiletries. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that you need for cooking, but the outside was something else; quiet, private and absolutely breathtaking. We were so amazed at how beautiful it was and had the best time. We are already planning to come back this summer with a few more friends.
The cabin was quite easy to find. James, the owner had placed snacks at the entrance for us to enjoy as well as a bottle of wine and glasses. That was an unexpected pleasure. Later we found that he had made sure to stock things that made our stay more comfortable. For instance, he had left charcoal for us to grill with, he had placed fishing poles on the fishing island for us to use, there was Pam in the cabinet, which was something I had not thought to buy at the store. We had planned on venturing out to other parts of that area, but there was so much to do around the creeks, and in the woods, we stayed all three days on the property, and relaxed and really enjoyed ourselves. We definitely want to go back. Thank you so much James.
The cabin and location is as described, very nice. The host’s communication was as expected.
Our stay could have been and should have been great but…
We experienced water pressure and hot water issues from the beginning of our stay until the end.
We were in contact with the host, continually throughout our stay, reporting these problems. He had a neighbor attempt to fix the issue a couple of times but the repair only worked for a few hours.
We had 4 adults and three kids staying for three nights and only had a few minutes of functional water pressure and hot water. Never was there enough pressure or hot water to wash dishes.
While not necessarily the host’s fault, on our last night we lost all power.
The icing on the cake was the host’s solution to our unsatisfactory stay. He provided a $300 credit for three days of plumbing and hot water issues. Basically saying “hey it’s a mountain cabin and stuff happens”.
We have stayed in numerous Colorado cabins and this is the first time we’ve had this type of experience.
After our experience, we filed a complaint with Vrbo and they were great, saying they would contact the host immediately and to expect him to respond. He never did.
Vrbo did share that we should have contacted them during the stay and they would have been able to have more influence.
Live and learn.
