Puffin Inn of Anchorage

"The room was clean, bathroom nicely done with shower and no tub, however, the mattress in our room needed to be replaced. The staff were efficient and friendly. The lobby is being freshened so that's good. The hotel is close to Hood Lake and it was fun to watch planes landing on water and is a airport for planes only and ducks however shared their space! There was a great Community Faith Church close enough to walk to and attend. Please note this is not an upscale neighborhood. It is located very close to the airport with a free shuttle that only shuttles to ANC. I believe the upgraded hotels are twice as expensive so this is an affordable hotel which I believe is needed sp all people with various incomes have options."

"The shuttle was very convenient, even with a pick up time at midnight. There are not any restaurants close by, so be prepared with your own food or have transportation. Good airport hotel, close to where you need to be."

"Good option for a quick overnight stay. The main drawback is the thin walls, which make the rooms quite noisy. We were woken up by noise from the guests in the room above as they walked around. Overall, it works well for a short stay, but be prepared for some noise."

"This particular location has a staff worth mentioning, the first night was 3rd party booked, but the second and much needed night was sorted directly with me and the wonderful staff. Did not pay extra for my emotional support animal (dog who believes she's human), got a better discount and was remembered with smiling faces by the sweetest staff in Anchorage. Will book again for this. Comfortable, quiet, and next to a Lowe's? I think yes x10."

"We arrived late, so the office was closed, but it was still easy to find our cabin and navigate the property. We opened our window and fell asleep to the sounds from the creek behind our cabin. In the morning, we watched the ducks in the pond while we drank our coffee on the deck. The bathrooms and washrooms were spacious and clean. I wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed in the Cottonwood Valley cabin, which is the last cabin on the path around the pond. The path around the pond is not a full loop, so you have to walk all the way around. The path is not long, and we left most of our things in our car, but this could be a helpful detail for others renting this cabin."
