Maple Woods Cottage on beautiful Bass Lake #PSTR 22-071
6 adults/2 children
Maple Woods Cottage, “A kid’s paradise and a parent’s dream!” A quote from one of our 2022 renters! We feel they have perfectly summed it up! Six adults/2 children.
Be sure to view our video! Ask about our cancellation policy. Nothing VRBO offered as a choice matched what we’ve been doing successfully for 18 years now! At the end of a quiet, private road, and nestled among majestic pine, beech, oak, and maple trees, this gorgeous cottage is the lakefront retreat you have been looking for!
Downstairs you will find an inviting, tastefully furnished, living room with a beautiful stone-faced, gas log fireplace. A large Smart TV and Blu-Ray player with lots of DVD's from which to choose, as well as a Wave Radio/CD Player. An expansive picture window overlooks Bass Lake including a beautiful, sandy beach. The dining area boasts an artfully designed table that can seat up to ten comfortably.
The kitchen is fully-appointed with stainless appliances, utensils, and equipment for casual to elegant entertaining. Quartz counter-tops and a beautiful tile back-splash, as well as a large peninsula for prep work and serving. A utility room with stacked washer/dryer and a large pantry are just off the kitchen. We leave detergents and dryer sheets for your use (we ask that you launder towels prior to your departure). Additionally, downstairs you will find the beautiful master bedroom complete with king-size bed, Smart TV, dressing room, and bath with walk-in shower. A large picture window overlooks the lake. Wi-Fi throughout the house.
Upstairs, you will first enter the den/TV room.... a perfect hide-away for the kids (or adults seeking solitude). The den is furnished with a comfortable small couch, a double ottoman, a comfy chair, as well as floor pillows for comfy movie-watching (Smart TV). Two large bedrooms and a beautiful bath with tub/shower finish the second floor. Both bedrooms have picturesque views of the lake and the woods. One is furnished with a queen bed as well as a daybed and TV. The other upstairs bedroom also boasts a queen-size bed and a twin bed, with a door into the upstairs bathroom (can be used as a second Master). Both upstairs bedrooms have built-in desks.
The cottage has central air-conditioning and heat, as well as two upstairs units to help cool on those hot summer days.
Finally, the cottage has two gorgeous porches and a large deck... the porch and deck across the entire front of the home overlook the lake, private sunning patio and beach as well as the boat dock and playground. The fire pit is on the patio. There is a great deal of seating for entertaining and a large dining table that seats 6-8 for outdoor dining. The rear porch overlooks beautiful Michigan woods and holds the gas-grill.
Maple Woods Cottage is a private, family retreat on Bass Lake, a 96 acre all-sports lake. Much of the lake's shoreline is dedicated to a state park, which makes it a sanctuary for wildlife including loons, herons, white-tailed deer, raccoons, beavers, and a variety of game fish such as bass, walleye, pike, perch and bluegill. The lake is a ideal for swimming, boating, fishing, skiing, and tubing. We provide a fishing boat with motor, 4 kayaks, a swim raft and a pedalboat for casual summer fun. In the winter, the Bass Lake area is known for ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing, as well as downhill skiing at Crystal Mountain.
We are just minutes from the Interlochen Arts Center, Traverse City and Grand Traverse Bay, Crystal Mountain Ski & Golf Resort, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore, Leland, Shanty Town, numerous wineries, concert halls, Leelanau Sands Casino, award-winning golf courses, Little Betsie River and Lake Michigan.
We accept Pay Pal in addition to personal checks and VRBO booking. Our contract must be signed at the time of booking.

The house was amazing. Very cozy, home away from home feeling. The beds were comfortable, plenty of fans (not needed in late August), and more than enough cooking and dinning materials. We loved the yard and beach access. The kids really enjoyed the floating dock to jump into the lake, loved the kayaks and peddle boat. Having access to a motor boat was awesome, decent fishing (small Walleye) about 100 yards off the beach. Would love to stay here again (shh dont tell anyone else about this gem!)
This is our fourth year at Maplewoods! We love the kayaks, play area for kids, and fire pit. Bonnie is a great host and always available for any questions. The cottage has everything you could need! Love our stay here! Thanks!
Maple Woods has everything you could want! Kitchen has tons of dishes for every occasion. The kayaks for kids and adults are always a plus. Bonnie is always available for any questions!
We loved our stay in Interlochen. The house was perfect. Very clean, big yard, nice beach... Bonnie was very quick to respond to any questions and gave us lots of information upfront so we knew exactly how to get around the house. Would stay again for sure :)
This was a perfect getaway with our toddlers. The water was shallow and warm and they loved playing in it and on the beach. It was nice that they had Sand toys, kayaks, and paddle boat to use also. It was a quiet and relaxing location, yet we appreciated the central air and Wi-Fi. It was about 30 minutes to get to traverse city. We would definitely go back to maple woods in the future!
The house was clean and offered great outdoor space with the large deck and comfy furniture along with the beach and fire pit areas that both had the most comfortable chairs. Cornhole, tons of beach toys, kyacks (2 adult, 2 children), a paddle boat, and a motor boat were all provided. Everything you could need inside the house was provided. About a 30 minute drive to brewery but a few good restaurants were only a 10 minute drive. Bedrooms were all a good size too! Bonnie was wonderful to work with! We had a great time!
Maple Woods cottage is amazing! There was plenty of room with one bedroom with a large King bed on the first floor and a private bath and two bedrooms upstairs with a queen and twin (additional trundle in one room) in each upstairs bedroom. The upstairs rooms shared a bathroom. The entire cottage and garden and beach was pristine clean! Everything was provided from pots and pans to spices and even a fresh herb garden in front for cooking!! The beach was even combed when we arrived and the kayaks, peddle boat and fishing boat were so fun!!! Bonnie is thoughtful and responsive and she even let us know there was going to be a meteor shower during our stay which we thoroughly enjoyed!!!

Excellent vacation spot!
First time vacationing with the kiddos (3 of them 3 and under) and we all had a blast! Lots to do, beautiful lake, adorable cottage and everything you need is there! Can't wait to come back!
Wonderful vacation home with beautiful decor inside and gorgeous landscaping to enjoy while relaxing outside. Bonnie and Rick have provided all you need to enjoy this gem of a vacation home. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of beach towels and toys. You won’t need to pack anything but your clothes to have fun at this well appointed home.
Bonnie is such a pleasure to work with. Her cottage has everything you could need or want. We love staying there. This was our fifth year, I think. It’s always clean and spacious. We love the kayaks, fishing and swimming.
Great space to visit with family and friends. Plenty of sleeping arrangements. Well stocked and beautiful home. Thank you Bonnie and Rick for a wonderful getaway.
We stayed to go skiing at Crystal Mountain, which is only about 20 minutes away. Our three kids loved playing in the snow and on the playground. The home was accurately represented, well supplied, clean and great for our family.
We had a great time. So many water toys we had a blast. Got lucky with the fish and had a fish fry while we were there. Completely furnished inside and out! We will be back.
Bonnie and Rick have a great cottage. Everything you could possibly need. Very responsive to questions and helping work things out. Perfect for kids of all ages!
Had a great week @ Bonnie & Ricks lake home. The grounds are beautiful. Close proximity to a number of the areas best- Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Frankfort, etc.
This is our third year staying. We love it. The grand children love swimming and the playing on the swings. The adults love fishing and relaxing. Lots of bonfires, boating and kayaking.
The property is more than what we could have asked for.
Everything you needed was at your fingertips.
Great weather and great stay.
Thanks
Bonnie and Rick

enjoyable cozy place
Had a lovely time spending 4 days at the house. The house is super cute and cozy! While we planned to snow ski at Crystal Mountain while there, the weather wasn't quite what we hoped for so we ended up spending much of our time at the house sitting by the fire place playing games. Bonnie was super great to work with. She made sure we had everything we needed. While we used the place for skiing, I can only imagine how great the place must be in the summertime. I hope to come back some day and stay again to experience the lake.
The lake house is cozy and inviting! We enjoyed all that it offers... evening bonfires, paddle boat, kayaks, and fishing. It was a peaceful place to unwind and reconnect with family. Our son caught 21 fish in three days...no exaggeration! The house was clean and provided ample space for our family. There is a sandy beach perfect for kids. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow for us to take advantage of swimming, but we are thinking about another stay during the summer. Rick and Bonnie were easy to contact and responded quickly to answer all questions.
