charming place to connect
We enjoyed the wood stove, outdoor patio and BBQ very much. The indoor and outdoor dog kennels allowed us flexibility to enjoy our dog, but go on adventurers with or without an animal. We spent time feeding the resident goats , ducks and chickens, too. Thank you for your hospitality, a home away from home.

Spartan Race event
My family stayed at the Rose Cottage last week, while our son attended the Spartan race. The location was perfect. The cottage was cozy with 2+ bedrooms. The beds very comfortable. We had everything we needed, in case we forgot to pack something. It was great to come "home" after a long day on the road. Leeda and Josef came to meet us; walked the cottage and grounds with us. Very hospitable and friendly. We were in the country, yet close to markets, stores, and places to eat and shop. Thank you very much.

Home away from home
We frequent Ione every year and found this amazing cottage for our most recent visit. Very private and quaint. Cottage was very clean and reminded us of when we visited England. The atmosphere of the grounds was relaxing and fun to explore. Animals gave it a great country appeal.
Leeda and Josef were great and so hospitable. We plan to make this a regular vacation getaway after our first experience staying here!! :0) Mike and Angela

Nice getaway
We took our kids for a little break from the hustle of Silicon Valley. Just a little over two hours away, it felt relaxing and novel to be out in Ione. Our kids loved the puppet castle, feeding the goats, chickens, and ducks, and the property felt quiet and relaxing. We ate outside on the patio amidst the stars, and it was lovely to be out in the country. Leeda made up a big binder of things to do in the area, and we ended up going to Black Chasm Cavern-- highly recommend for all ages. At the cottage, there is good internet, a chrome cast, a decent kids video library, and the cottage itself is well-kept and well-appointed, but still small enough that you naturally gravitate to being outside and enjoying the property. Leeda and Josef were great and responsive hosts and we would definitely come back.

Nice little Cottage
The grounds were well kept and the cottage was clean. The thing I was most impressed with was the keypad to open both the gate and the cottage. There are kennels, farm type animals, and a nice patio that supplied a very enjoyable evening for me and my wife. My wife already wants to go back.

Great place to relax
We spent New Year's in this cozy cabin and had a relaxing vacation with our dogs. The house is very well equipped for an extended stay and secluded enough for privacy, yet only a few minutes drive to Ione. We would definitely stay here again.

We're coming back!
We spent four nights here over the 2014 Thanksgiving weekend. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Joseph and Leeda were wonderful hosts! They've created a fully-equipped cottage retreat with amenities beyond our expectations. The cottage is only eight minutes from Jackson and about ten minutes from Sutter Creek. There's plenty to do in the Mother Lode! On the other hand, you'd have a great experience if you never left the one-acre grounds! We're already planning our next "escape" to this beautiful place.

Country getaway
Lots to do and see in the area. But in addition just staying at the cottage is an adventure in of itself. The hospitality is more then expected. I would recommend this vacation not to be missed.

A quaint and cozy cottage getaway with beautiful flowers
It is really amazing all the flowers on this property. It was very enjoyable to walk around and look at all the Iris's, daffodils and peach blossoms that were in bloom. They were beautiful! The cottage is quaint, cozy and nicely decorated with a traditional country rose theme to the decor. The bed was most comfortable. This property is great for star gazing as there is very little ambient city light at night. I also liked the fact that they have a nice selection of tea for the K-cup coffee maker. Another plus is the interesting selection of books in their cottage library. There is nothing like a cup of tea and a good book out in the garden.
Leeda is a very helpful and pleasant host. I look forward to returning again.
