"We are so pleased to have stayed 7 nights at HIRUGI. The staff helped us prior to arrival with car rental and restaurant reservations (we don't speak Japanese). The lady of the house is SUPER hospitable (speaks French too). So many positive aspects including tips on New Year activities taking place and a traditional dinner organized. "My partner and I stayed for two nights and loved it at Irumote So! The room was spacious, the hosts are so lovely, and the hostel is equipped with everything you need. The rooftop patio was a beautiful place to watch the sun set. It’s a little far from town but the hosts will pick you up and drop you off from the ferry terminal. There’s a restaurant nearby which was great for dinners both nights. 10/10 would recommend to anyone staying in Iriomote. "

"Room very small, JPY 22,400 for 2 with b.f is very overpriced. Without a car you are stuck, b.f only served until 8:00 AM. "My wife and I stayed at the property four nights. Arriving to the property was very easy via the hotel shuttle. It’s a quick ride to the hotel, about 25 minutes. The hotel staff were very warm and welcoming when we arrived, a short time before checkin. Anyone who did not speak English, found someone who did. The pool was ideal for children and adults, the beach was clear and calm. Imagine Hawaii, but it’s Japan’s version. The drinks were nice at the bar. The rooms were quite spacious. The gym was awesome, never crowded. The morning breakfast had every option available to mankind. The dinners were amazing at the outside barbecue, it included all you could drink and eat. All the hotel guest were very polite and family oriented. It was a nice place to stay after a busy week across the country. Thank you Fusaki Beach 🙇‍♂️"

Unpleasant stay. 3 stars at best.
"Our stay at Hoshinoya fell short of expectations. Uncomfortable beds, stuffy rooms, and inadequate lighting marred the experience. Mediocre food and unresponsive massage therapy added to the disappointment. The hotel grounds were confusingly laid out, and the lack of beach loungers and presence of washed-up plastic bottles detracted from the beach experience. The insistence on proceeding with a kayaking tour during torrential rain, coupled with unjust charges upon checkout, further soured the stay. Communication issues with staff exacerbated the situation. Overall. Hoshinoya failed to deliver on its promise of 5-star luxury and we would in no way return. We felt ripped off and would rate this at a 3 star best in comparison to other 5 star resorts. "
