We truly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is in a great location on the lake. The view out the large windows were breathtaking. The hot tub was very relaxing. We also enjoyed the bonfire, the seats by the fire were convenient and was able to enjoy the lake view at the same time. Mike answered all our questions and was accommodating. We can’t wait to go back. John and Kathy
It has plenty of room for a big group of people. Nice how it has the different areas of seating with the fire pit and the back deck. Big dock with seats too!! The beach is wonderful and nice hot tub. Great host if you have any questions or concerns.
Our family went up for a relaxing short trip. This was the perfect home/setting for us. Plenty of room for all us to sleep comfortably, the family room was large enough for everyone to hang together too. The water views and sunsets were amazing. Nature is right there at your door. The grandkids even caught a chipmonk! Caught a few fish right off the dock as well.
This is our second time staying here. That in itself is a review! Mike is a great host. The house is clean and as described. The hot tub is well maintained and spacious. They provide kayaks for the lake. Beautiful location on the lake. Kitchen well stocked. The bathrooms are quirky with the mast bath not having a door (have to shut door to whole bedroom as it’s attached to the bathroom) and the half bath being very small (perfect for kids). Those are unique features! Will likely stay here again! Thanks Mike!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House was very clean with plenty of room for everyone and the deck/firepit area was nice. Enjoyed peaceful mornings on the deck. Would definitely return.
Peaceful Pointe lives up to its name! What a fantastic location for a relaxed family vacation. Everyone should kayak at least once a day; it is soul soothing. The cabin is beautiful and the setting breathtaking! Waking up to that view was pure joy.
Having all the play equipment (kayaks, paddleboards, fishing gear, and rafts) created ready made fun. Thanks Mike for sharing your wonderful cabin.
The house had a lot of space for all of us! The one downfall was bathrooms. There are three toilets and two showers. One of the toilets and showers is in a master suite which has no door on the bathroom. So that bathroom basically belongs to whoever sleeps in that room. One of the toilets is in a tiny closet type room and is good for kids under 5 ft tall.
Overall, the house and the property accommodated our group of nine adults very well. The lake was great for swimming and kayaking, and the views from the deck and the house were beautiful. Mike was quick to respond to questions. However, there were a few aspects of our stay that were less than what we expected in terms of quality and the general lack of upkeep of some elements of the property e.g. wooden chairs around the fire pit were old and wonky; door wall in kitchen was not clean; lighting was poor; master bathroom has no door / no privacy; grill grease pan was full and caught fire; black flies in the dozens in lowered level sleeping area; etc. No one of those items were necessarily terrible on there own, but in totality it was below expectations given the premium price we paid.
We enjoyed our stay at Peaceful Pointe. The house was super clean, the beds were comfy and our kids enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. The house has expansive windows to enjoy the gorgeous views of the lake.
My only issue with the house was the bathroom situation. The en suite bathroom attached to the master bedroom doesn't have a door. It's just open to the bedroom, which is kind of strange. The house is also advertised as having three bathrooms. The third bathroom (it's the one with brown paneling in the photos) is actually a tiny half bath with a ceiling too low for an adult to stand upright in - I'm 5' 2" and had to duck. Calling a cupboard-sized room that you can't stand up in, with a toilet and sink wedged inside, a full bathroom is misleading. Our kids called it the hobbit hole.
We had a wonderful vacation here and I'm giving the house a four-star review because it truly is a lovely space. I would have appreciated knowing in advance that the house didn't have three full bathrooms as advertised and I think other potential renters should know that as well.
Every year a group of us put together a trip up near the Manistee National Forest. This property was truly a gem and had all of the amenities and space that we needed for 9 of us. Plus the views of the lake were amazing. Mike was great to deal with and super responsive. Already looking to booking our next trip here.
My group had a great time here. It was the fall so we didn’t go out on the lake, but rather had just an amazing view of the changing leaves. We enjoyed our time most indoors or else hiking on the manitou trails or in the hot tub. Cleanliness was extraordinary and the home had everything we needed to make meals and sleep well. Would definitely consider again.
We had a wonderful time at the lake house! Check in was easy and Mike was very responsive. There were 10 of us and the house accommodated us all comfortably. The beds were comfy and the house had everything we needed for our weekend stay. There is an awesome grocery store called Dublins that is about 15 minutes away that will have anything you need. The lake was beautiful! We were able to kayak and enjoy the lake all weekend with the great weather we had. This was a much needed vacation with our family and we couldn't be happier with our stay. Mike, we hope to be back!!
Wonderful lake, outdoor fun with SUPs (brought a few of our own), kayaks and canoe , fire pit and hot tub. Indoor convenience - fully stocked kitchen- (we prepared all meals for 10 adults - and had all we needed in the kitchen), plenty of bedding - slept us all very comfortably. Provided fans kept the upstairs bedroom (loft but with a door) cool enough at night. To our great surprise - extra king bedroom (I don't think it was pictured on the VRBO app) with its own air-conditioning unit. Main floor living was great for plenty of games! (Some provided by owners). We brought a few extra extension cords/power strips - which we used and an extra small table that we used for storing all of our games on during the week. Definitely would rent again! Thank you!
We spent the week here with our family (3 kids ages 21, 18, and 15) and we really enjoyed our stay. It’s fairly remote (nearest grocery store is a Dollar General that is 15 mins away) but that didn’t bother us at all. The house has large windows so the lake can be viewed from most of the downstairs. The basement has a separate living space with beds and sectional and tv. Plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen to bring your own food (and I would bc of the grocery store situation!) The lake wasn’t super busy and my husband and so. Spent every morning and evening fishing either from our boat or from the shore (although they didn’t catch as much as they would have liked to…seemed like most of the fish in the lake were pretty small) There is a large shallow area along the shore which is perfect for small kids to play in or to set your beach chair in to cool off and relax with a good book!
We were hoping to relax and we really did…our vacation seemed much longer than just a week!
