This is a 130 year old building, with beautiful woodwork. It is still run by descendants of the original builder. It is quite well maintained, and has modern amenities that have been added. If you want a genuine experience, this is it.

The location is great and the ryokan is really traditional and charming. However there is not much service and the good is rather simple comparing to other ryokans we stayed. Staff were polite but were hardly any.

Formidable ryokan à l'abandon.

De toute évidence, les propriétaires ont jeté l'éponge sur l'entretien de leur bien. L'état général est mauvais et la propreté discutable. Pourtant cette énorme bâtisse est splendide et ses environs et son site sont exceptionnels. Depechez-vous d'y aller avant que ce fabuleux ryokan tombe en ruines.

昔ながらの日本旅館

年末に友人との旅行で宿泊しました。 場所は最寄駅から徒歩15分くらいでしたが、宿泊当日は夜だったこともあり、宿の方が駅まで車で迎えに来てくれました。 旅館は昔ながらの日本旅館という感じです。廊下などの共有スペースは暖房など効いていなくて寒いですが、お部屋は快適でした。また到着すると既にお布団が敷いてあり、宿の方は皆さん良い方々でした。 朝食はボリュームたっぷりの日本食でした。

Basic Ryokan with beach view nearby Married Rocks

Be aware that this is a very traditional Ryokan with rooms with beach views. Primarily used by Japanese tourists who go see the nearby Married Rocks sight. Standards are very traditional Japanese and may not meet international travelers' expectations (no English, Japanese only breakfast, shared toilets on the room's floor and basic onsen on the first floor, no food for the evening). You do however have Wifi, TV, a thermos for hot water, and free parking. When we visited the place (end of December) there were no restaurants nearby and only a minimart. Overall, I found it a little expensive (around $250 per night) for the whole package. But if you want to experience a very basic Ryokan with a great beach view, then this is your place.

夫婦岩に近い

明治創業を感じられる宿でした。自分の祖母の家を思わせる造りと客室にあったダイヤル式の電話が何とも。ホテルや完全なサービスを求められる方には物足りないないかもですが、落ち着きたい方にはおすすめです。お料理おいしかったです。

趣のある建物でよかったのですが、部屋や浴室の清潔さはいまひとつでした。 宿の方は親切でしたので、残念です。 ただ、大人2人と幼児1人で2万円は、割高感を感じました。
