Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

We had a wonderful time at Bluestone Escape. The cabin was beautiful, cozy and very well stocked. It was a comfortable place to retreat after our days’ adventures, and we would love to come back!
The cabin was clean and only 20 min away from West Yellowstone Park entrance. Convenient location, clean and quiet property with internet access. I would stay here again.
Very clean, cozy cabin. Had everything we needed and just the right amount of room for my husband and me and two granddaughters. The girls loved the loft. Location is great. Close enough to services if needed.

Very Satisfied Pittsburgh Visitor
The cabin is new, modern, very well furnished. The inside was incredibly beautiful and very clean. Everything we needed was provided. The atmosphere provided an excellent cabin feel with all of the modern amenities of home. The location is easily accessible yet in the heart of nature. Wild moose, beautiful streams and miles of trails are within walking distance. Yellowstone is a short drive away. This is a phenomenal cabin that I will return to.
This cabin was absolutely perfect for our visit to Yellowstone. It was extremely clean, had all the amenities(plus some) that we needed and even had updated furniture and new carpet from the pictures in the listing. Master bed was extremely comfy and there were even coolers and camp chairs provided! There is a newer grocery store at the end of the street that has all the basics you'll need for food and such but they were pretty expensive. The drive to West Yellowstone took about 25 mins from the cabin.
Beautiful cabin, beautiful location. Lights were on amen cabin was warm when we arrived. Driveway was plowed as well. The inside was cute and modern. The only complaint was the beds. I realize you don’t want a super expensive mattress in a rental. But these beds were so bad that we both slept on the couches the second night and actually ended our stay a night early as neither one of us could sleep. I would strongly recommend a better mattress. Especially in the master. Even a memory foam topper would’ve have helped.

Nice place but was filthy when we got there.
The cabin is actually really nice, but they need to fire the cleaning crew (or lack there of) When we arrived it had not been cleaned from the previous renters. We had to purchase our own cleaning supplies to clean toilets, showers, the kitchen, the floors... pretty much everything. All they did was make the beds. We didn’t trust that the linens were clean either so we washed everything. The management team appologized and compted us $140. I think they should have done more but whatever... would I recomend it? I’d recomend the cabin but only if you call ahead and make sure it was spotless before you get there...
This log cabin was beautifully constructed and well-laid out with excellent furnishings and amenities. There were many extra bonuses such as a large garage with two coolers and camp chairs inside for guests’ use. There were little alarm clocks, night lights, many condiments and baking ingredients left from previous guests, comprehensive, good quality pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, etc., modern kitchen appliances, large washer and dryer, plenty (spongy) pillows and extra blankets and modern kitchen appliances. The coffee pot uses ground coffee. There was plenty of dish detergent and a little laundry detergent. The heating was efficient and instant with thermostats in every room. We weren’t able to get the gas-fired corner fireplace to work. The only items we can recommend would possibly be a second bedside table and lamp for the downstairs bedroom and one or two bedside tables and lamps for the upstairs enclosed bedroom. There was one bedside table with a lamp in-between the two loft bed. A privacy curtain or blind would be nice for the kitchen window and perhaps the loft. We had three fiber optic installers peering into the kitchen window and working outside of it from 8am for a couple of hours one morning but of course that would be a rare occurance.
The cabin was roughly 20mi. from the W. Yellowstone gate to the park so it was a bit far from there, to make that round trip daily. But the local restaurant, “Connie’s”, nearby and a treat. The cabin is set off the main highway a couple of miles or so, on the corner of the lightly traveled road that leads to it and a short dead-end lane. There was a small RV trailer parked out back, leveled with its slide out extended but there was evidence of inhabitants using it only one night out of our six, and they made zero noise.
A $______ damage insurance policy was somehow added to our charges which I didn’t see until later. I’m not sure if it was mandatory or optional, but I don’t appreciate it. Communications were good between the property management company but it did take 24 to 48 hours to receive responses to a couple of questions, such as is there a hair dryer provided. The answer was probably not (there was one) or was the water good to drink (probably, but they recommend bottled water anyway - the water seems fine, no discoloration, no bad taste, and icy cold.)
This unit was a very comfortable. Nice spacious living space. The kitchen was equipped with all tools and utensils needed. Master bedroom adjacent to bath. Having washer and dryer was a very nice amenity.
Great place! Very clean and spacious. Really enjoyed our stay. Only thing (it’s silly but) the garage light was unable to be turned off and really killed the buzz for stargazing! Haha but would totally stay again if in the area!
Property was nice. Bugs were horrible at night which is expected. There were things left in the shower from the previous group that had not been cleaned out prior to our stay but otherwise everything was clean. It was nice to have our whole family in one place.
Clean and comfortable. All the comforts of home. We were here during the Yellowstone flooding. Still had a wonderful stay. Went to beautiful Tetons and Jackson Hole.
Nice to have use of garage.
Will highly recommend to anyone heading to Yellowstone.
Four of us have spent 3 days here. It was clean. It was twenty five minutes away from the West Yellowstone gate. The kitchen utensils were well stocked and everything was properly put. Only issue was the top floor room does not have much clearance for tall people.
Had a great stay at the Bluestone cabin. The place was clean and had all the amenities needed for a great trip in Island park. The property had just recently had a snow storm and the management did a great job of clearing 2-3 feet of snow so we could park in the driveway. 5 star service! Thank you!
