Getting Around:

Guests will need to make sure they have their own vehicle. Summer months are fine with a small car but four wheel drive is a must in the winter!

Other Things to Note:

What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

Nice place

The cabin is very nice. There was a mistake made and the cabin was not clean when we arrived but they were quick to send cleaners and take care of it thankfully. We enjoyed staying there. There is some low water pressure in the kitchen faucet and at least one bathroom shower but other than that, everything was great!

Good choice for a family reunion

The property was a good fit for our extended family of 19 in 8 family units. Each nuclear family was able to have their own bedroom space; bathroom capacity was a bit more challenging but we knew in advance to expect that. The location was fine - limited services are nearby. We generally ended up getting groceries in West Yellowstone when leaving the park.

BEAUTIFUL CABIN

We chose this listing to accommodate us & our kids, grandkids, & g-grandkids. Ended up with 15 adults & 5 kids. ABSOLUTELY beautiful home. The lofts were a favorite of the grandkids!! We never figured out how to use the gas fireplaces. Communication with property manager was excellent. Garage was a bonus!

Pleasantly surprised!

We frequent the area often so when we rented the property we wanted to know exactly where the location was. We did not know until we committed. Then we had an opportunity to visit it a month or so prior. It was a little further away from Yellowstone than we would have preferred and the neighborhood wasn’t exactly what we would have expected. However, once we all (19 of us)got situated and perused the property we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean, roomy, very well stocked, and easy to use. We had a GREAT TIME and the location didn’t turn out to be a problem after all. I would highly recommend it for your stay!

Better than it looks

The pictures online did not do this cabin justice. It was much nicer inside than it looked. The rooms were large, the master suite was lovely, and two of the rooms had lofts which made putting little children to bed very convenient. We were a family of 25 and only had to put three children on sleeping bags in the family room. There were a lot of stairs to climb so that part would not be good for someone in a wheelchair, Although there is a lift chair in the garage. It was very convenient to the horseback riding and the lake activities, And was only a half hour from Yellowstone Park. We would stay there again, although we wish they'd have had some ping pong table or pool table for the teenagers. I gave it a 4 out of 5 for cleanliness because the screens on the windows needed washing and the outside area could have been hosed down, but the inside and the beds were very clean. Overall we have a lovely stay, and would give it a 4.7 rating

Great Place for a Family Get Together

Granma and I hosted everyone of our kids and grandkids for a week -- 21 in total. Ranged in ages from 1.2 to, well, north of 70. The property could have not been better for us. You have to be careful who you assign to the bedroom on the main floor becuase it's adjacent to the kitchen (we could have done better with that decision!!). The huge garage was a plus for us, as we used it as the meeting place in the evenings, away from many of the bedrooms. The beds, the furnishings, etc. are great. Having owned short-term rentals near a national park and at the beach, we know the what to appreciate. We would recommend this property to large families for a get together like we had. Thanks to the owners for sharing it with us!!!

Awesome place for a large group

Loved the area and the house set up. Check in was a little confusing because the property had multiple lock boxes. I loved that the kitchen had labels on the cabinets and was stocked with everything we needed to cook. It was also convenient that the address was on outside doors. Some bedding had not been washed, but we didn’t use all the beds so that was ok. We did have to rerun the dishwasher upon arrival also. Just minor things.

Winchester Stay

The house itself is lovely. The rooms spacious. we determined the outside gas line was broken and the owners got someone out to repair it right away. The only issue we had was cleanliness. in master bedroom, the sheets were not clean as well as some of the downstairs beds. we were glad for the washer/dryer so we could wash the sheets. The place needs an overall good cleaning, lots of dust on furniture and ceiling fans. The yard could of used mowing as well. Other than that we enjoyed the space and the ability to spread out.

Wish description more thorough

This was a well-equipped cabin. Far more available to use, from pack and plays to trash compactor. I wish there had been better instructions on how to keep the hot tub chemicals balanced and the hot tub operating well. I also wish I would have recognized the trash compactor sooner so we could have used our garbage space more efficiently. I can see why they are not necessarily on main listing, but the book in the cabin should have more instructions.

Spacious and well equipped home!

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful 3 story home. It had way more room than we needed but it worked wonderfully for us. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked for our whole group many times. The Bed and bathroom linens were plentiful and very clean. To be able to use the hot tub was wonderful, as well! Everything was ready and very clean for our stay.
