Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

Darling cabin! All the comforts of home. Loved the kitchen, comfy seating for watching tv, big bathrooms, and comfortable big bed. The hot tub was empty but not a big deal. The road getting back to the cabin is rough but this isn’t the city.
This cabin was even better than the pictures. Super clean, very well-stocked kitchen, loved the open floor plan, super comfortable beds, the hot tub was amazing.
45 minutes from west entrance of Yellowstone. Lots of natural beauty within 15-20 minutes of the cabin.
Grest property. Spacious, very clean, well supplied kitchen. Enjoyed our stay there. Property manager was very responsive in helping with the key box. Maybe info should include instructions that there should be a "click" after entering each number. Also was quick response to tv issue. Future visitors:
believe the advice about a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The many potholes on Timber Heights were still a bit of a surprise. It will lengthen time to get to Yellowstone. Overall, still a wonderful place to stay.
For our group of 12 on their way to Yellowstone, this property was a perfect fit. 8 teenage girls upstairs in the apartment and 4 adults in the main house was a great set up. There was plenty enough sleeping space for everyone. Three full bathrooms was more than adequate for getting everyone through showers and getting ready space. The kitchen was fully stocked and big enough for everyone to get through and prepare meals. If we ever travel in a big group like this again (or if you are), I would definitely take this property or one like it again. It definitely saved money for our trip by having us all together with the opportunity to manage meals instead of eating out. It was spacious, comfortable, and safe.
Not much communication was required, but all information needed to check in, check out, manage property and area amenities was clearly provided via emails and information in house. Great listing!
This vacation was amazing and we are very thankful for being able to enjoy our time in the relaxing cabin!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Little disappointed that the hot tub was empty. I know it wasnt shown in the amenities but they should take the hot tub out of there and the hot tub rules down. Other than that everything else was nice.
We loved Timber Heights cabin! It was a very quiet area, surrounded by pine trees. The road is a little rough, we were glad we brought the truck. Perfect size for a family of five, perfect place to relax and grill some burgers after playing on the reservoir all day or hiking in Yellowstone. The grill could stand to be updated but we made it work. :) We enjoyed the hot tub and the hammock and we saw a Moose and her calf walk right by one morning! We would rent this cabin again.
This property was great. It had lots of space for our family. The cabin could have been a little cleaner especially the kitchen but overall it was clean. Beds were very comfortable. We had an issue with a breaker which caused.the internet to go out. The maintenance guy was out quickly and resolved the issue. My one "complaint" is currently they are doing road construction. It took 30 minutes to get from cabin to the main highway. There should be a warning about this construction. It isn't permanent obviously but a heads up would have been considerate.
When looking for a place to stay close to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons we stumbled across this cabin in Island Park. Boy we are so happy we did.
The drive to Yellowstone is around 35 beautiful minutes and 2ish hours from Jackson Hole (Grand Tetons). The drive to these to parks is relaxing and not all grueling. Easy drives and literally 3 turns to get to west Yellowstone.
The cabin itself was very clean and larger than we thought. The beds were super comfy and honestly want to buy the same pillows and mattress we slept on in the Master bedroom. The hot tub was clean and worked perfectly for us after a long day of hiking.
The reason this property for us is a 5 star is listed all above but my personal favorite thing was the moose in the close area. We seen a total of 5 different Moose. 1 bull, 2 cow and 2 calfs. Absolutely incredible!!!
100% recommend this location
Beautiful place in the winter, loved the seclusion, loved the cabin! Fyi, it's a propane fireplace, not wood like somehow it got in our mind. Everyone loved the experience. For wintertime, come with 4 wheel drive and good tires! Property managers were great and very helpful!
Great cabin in the woods. Nice and roomy for large families. Hot tub added bonus especially as the weather cools off. There was some hair left in the shower drain in the upstairs bathroom but that was the only negative and was a quick fix.
This was a wonderful place to land back at in the evening for our family of 6. This had plenty of room, beds, and areas to relax. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, washer & dryer, satellite tv, and the hot tub. The home was very clean. The only issue was an odor I will address in a moment. There are two decks that were nice to use. This cabin is fairly secluded and makes you feel like you are close enough to town, with fairly little noise or neighbors.
The home cools off very nicely in the evenings by just opening windows. We did use one of the provided box fans one evening.
This place was a perfect retreat for our family and we would stay here again!
* The only issue that we had was a smell when we would enter the cabin. Opening windows helped air it out, but it was quite unpleasant. We tried air fresheners as well. It smelled like something rotting or dead. Maybe a small rodent that had died in a duct or wall or something?! We had some other family over one evening and they noticed it too. We couldn’t detect it upstairs.
Property was VERY well stocked with everything we may have needed and really clean. It feels secluded but was close enough to West Yellowstone park entrance.
We booked this as part of a multi-week summer road trip, and really enjoyed the quiet, secluded nature of this property! It was exactly as expected. The only (minor) issue was that the furnace wasn't working and nobody had told us... but we were able to use a backup plan of space heaters that we found in the closet. Great rental!
This cabin was perfect for our week exploring the nearby National parks. The large kitchen, hot tub and huge shower were relaxing and wonderful perks. Communication through the VRBO was easy and prompt. There are two ways to get into the property on road was much more eroded than the other. We would definitely stay here again!
We absolutely loved the cabin. The road to get in was filled with potholes so the first day was an little rough getting there until we learned to get around them. Its about 45 minutes to Yellowstone, but there were still a ton of things to do in the Island Park area. The cabin is stocked with everything you could need for your stay and we were definitely not disappointed.
