We spent 10 days in Issigeac , a most beautiful , charming medieval village just south of Bergerac . Perfect location for exploring the surrounding area where we travelled not only locally but as far as Bordeaux , St Emilion, Duras, Domme and Toulouse . Issigeavc had al the facilities required , great local restaurants a couple of nice bars as well as a fantastic Sunday market where people came to from all over .
Our house we rented was right in the heart of the village amongst the narrow lanes , traditional stone walls but modern kitchen and bathroom and as well an outdoor walled garden area - perfect for a glass of wine ...or two!
Issigeac was perfect in every way and gave us a taste of French rural village life away from the pace of big cities ,
would recommend it to any one wanting a holiday in a wonderful French village .
