The best thing about this property is the location. It’s less than 5 mins walk to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basillica Cistern, and Sultanahmet Tram Station. Plus there were tons of restaurants nearby. The neighborhood felt fairly safe. Our room was very clean, but a bit dated. The furniture was a little old and worn, and the walls had no decoration. However everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the bathroom seemed updated. I definitely would stay here again the next time I’m in Istanbul.

Istanbul Trip
Staff were amazing, always ready to help. They even offered apple tea while waiting for other people to finish checking in/out. Special mention to Burcu who helped us not only with the airport transfer, but more importantly, with the luggage transfer to another hotel for our land tour. Burcu came to our rescue when taxis and Uber rejected us. She arranged for the transport service. Hotel is close to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and other sites, as well as, to stores and restaurants. It is walking distance to the Tram station. Breakfast has a good selection. We had an excellent experience during our stay at Nowy Efendi and will gladly recommend it to our friends.

Great hotel in a central location for all the big sights. Only 2 minutes walk to tram stop also. The staff were so helpful.

The location.of the property was excellent 5 out 5.. everything was close by walking distance. Staff were friendly and answered our every question. Breakfast was good but could have done with more of a range of food. Also when giving prices for transfers they should state that 55 euros return actually means 55 goin n another 55 comin back not 55 in total for both ways. Which is what we thought until we asked further questions.. Overall a very good hotel in the perfect location.

The property is conveniently located next to the blue mosque and other sites around Sultanhamet. Local Sok supermarket is 30 seconds away and all restaurants and fast food are within walking distance, literary 1 minute. Tram is close and Metro is not too far from the hotel either. When we arrived, the rooms were clean and cleaned every day to an excellent standard. The hotel is very clean, with a very nice lobby, has super friendly staff and went above and beyond when we wanted our room changed, luckily there were a few rooms available at the time for a swap. The reception staff were very understanding and delivered an exceptional service and got us swapped over. This was my third visit to the hotel and hopefully, there will be many more.

Beautiful boutique hotel situated in a great location. Very friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure the guests are happy. Roughly a 2 min walk to the main strip which has a plethora of restaurants/takeaways and the main attractions too.

Walking distance away from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Local shops and restaurants are close by, so is McDonald's and Burger King. Nice and polite staff. Rooms were cleaned every day, with fresh towels. Our triple room was spacious. The rooftop terrace has beautiful views.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Nowy Efendi Hotel. The staff was extremely welcoming and made sure we had a pleasant stay. They were especially helpful in arranging transportation to and from the airport. We were pleased with the room, which was simple but clean and had everything we needed. A real highlight was the upstairs restaurant, where we had breakfast-- spectacular views of the Hagia Sofia and surrounding area! From the viewing terrace another level up it was possible to see the Blue Mosque as well and much of the city. Overall an excellent stay!

Stayed here for 5 nights with 3 friends and would definitely stay again if I went back to Istanbul. The property is in an amazing location, literally a 3-4 min walk from the main tourist areas. The hotel is clean and the staff are brilliant, Burcu and Dindar looked after us very well! The breakfast is decent but nothing special. We had 2 twin rooms and both were decent size. The view from the terrace is absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Good well run hotel in ideal location. Excellent service. Good Turkish breakfast. Smaller clean rooms with good modern facilities and comfortable bed. Would recommend to friends. Not good for people with mobility issues.

We are a family of 3. Had booked the double connecting rooms with attached bathrooms for 7 days. Love the staff here, they were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Recommends us tours and places to eat. Breakfast was ok. Credits to front staff Umut, Dindar, Burcu,Anil, Mustafa and Asiye from housekeeping which we didn’t get to meet but kept our rooms clean and tidy. The ladies in the kitchen and the manager as well. We were given the IstanbulKart upon arrival and returned it when we leave with some leftover credits. This is paid it forward. Love the people, love the country.

Great location. Brilliant view of hagia sofia from the rooftop of the hotel. 7 mins walking distance from grand bazar. Hotel room was clean however the water cleaning system in the toilet was broken. Also the tap for this was on the left hand side which i found highly strange for a muslim country. Room size was tiny - not big enough for two people we actually had to move some furniture which blocked the door whilst in the room. Has a terrace restuarant. Breakfast was sub standard. Extra fee applied to order omelettes. Ordered shisha on the first day but burnt out within 5 mins as no foil was used. My friend then had to make our own shisha after finally being allowed and then used our own equipment for it. In all fairness its good value for money and great location. I would suggest picking a bigger room size eg family room if its more than 1 person travelling.

Bien ubicado,comodo,limpio excelente atencion .
Mi estadia por este hotel fue excelente,bien ubicado en area de Sultan Ahmet todo cerca santa Sofia,metro, mezquita azul,gran bazar etc... El servicio y amabilidad de los empleados,y un servicio de desayuno muy bueno....lo recomiendo ampliamente por sus habitaciones comodas y limpias, todo remodelado.

Location was good for the ferry. Too much effort for staff to process our passports and had to ask when we would receive our passports back, so that prompted the staff to check us in then and there.

Modern newly renovated hotel
Great choice of hotel in the Sultanahmet area. Value for money and located in a quiet street. Its about 5 mins walk from the Tram station. We loved our stay and the breakfast is nice and was open 7.30 to 11am during the summers, which is very useful if you want to get our early for sun rise photos by the sea and be back for breakfast! Its also equally in between Blue Mosque/Sofia, Spice Market and Grand Bazaar, making it possible to walk to all of them easily. Also close to Eminonu (the ferry terminal for ferries to Asia side etc.). People with wheelchair may have access issues, it has lift but you need to go down a few steps to the lobby and lift area. So some insight for those needing a hotel with no steps access.

My second stay
This was my second time visiting Istanbul, and I stayed in Nowy Efendi for both time. Both experiences were excellent. As this time, I had some incident with my luggage which was lost due to the airline system, thankfully, the staffs of the hotel helped me to contact the airline, letting me know the situation and details, and just handled it nicely. In addition, it's just great, it got almost everything you need, the location, nice and helpful staffs, lovely breakfast with terrace view , friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed the stays.

Staff were ace. Rooms were decent size and had everything you needed. Hotel is close to the tram line and restaurants but its far enough so you cant hear a lot of noise. Will happily stay there again.

Hotel in good location. Service not with a smile and I was asked to pay for some items that they say was missing from the minibar yet I know I had not touched anything. There was no room for conversation re this and this spoilt the trip for me. There was multiple issues with the bedrooms, bathrooms (doors not being able to close properly etc) and breakfast was the same everyday with few choices
