Escape to Driftwood Den... your ultimate, beach side sanctuary where convenience meets coastal charm. Just steps away from the serence sound and directly across the street from the beach--complete with a public access to include restrooms, showers, free parking & in season snack shop. Feast your eyes on the panoramic views from almost every window. Begin your day curled up on the living room couch, savouring your coffee as you watch the emerging sunrise over the ocean. As night falls, unwind on the back deck with your favorite drink in hand, to watch the calming sunset. Cast a line or paddle a canoe right from your backyard, with rentals or fishing at your fingertips. Driftwood Den isn't just a getaway-it's where unforgettable memories are made. Book a stay and create your own memories today!!

Kiddos and adults alike can be entertained and unleash their creativity drawing on the chalkboard wall while you easily unpack using the elevator. Please be patient with the elevator, it is residential so it is much slower than commercial types.

The house features a reverse floor plan with 4 outdoor decks. 3 Decks are covered and one is not.

The second floor offers the Primary Suite with a king bed and full bathroom. It also includes one queen bedroom and one bedroom with 2 twin beds, with a shared bathroom between those two rooms. The third floor features an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room, and additional queen bedroom and a full bathroom.

All four bedrooms and the living room include newer flat screen ROKU tvs with Spectrum cable.

Great getaway vacation rental, NOT a party or event house. Primary guest over the age of 25 welcome.


LINENS are provided at no extra charge. (bed sheets, washclothes, hand towels & bath towels)

Pack your favorite beach towels and gear for a fun-filled day by the shore. We may have some chairs/boogie boards available for you to enjoy, but since items can sometimes go missing or break, we can't guarantee they'll be there.

For a weekend getaway, we've got you covered with plenty of essentials like hand soap, papertowels, toilet paper, trash bags, and detergents. You should have everything you need but as your stay lengthens or if you have specific preferences, you might want to bring your own. Personal bathing & hygiene products NOT provided, please bring your own.

No minimum night stay but cleaning fee stays the same because a professional cleaning service has to clean everything regardless of how many days stayed.

On departure please load and start the dishwasher with dirty dishes. Also load and start the washing machine with used towels, please use bleach. Do NOT strip beds, cleaning personnel will do that, things go missing when guests do it. Remove all your garbage & food from the home. The cleaning service fee you are charaged is exactly what it cost me to have the home professionally sanitized and to wash the linens...it's not me cleaning it, like other homeowners may choose to do. If for some reason you run into a situation where the home is not cleaned when you arrive, please call me immediately so I can try to make it right.

Trash/Recycle days are Wednesdays year round. In addition, during peak season May-October for the trash ONLY there is an additional picked up day on Saturday too. Please put trash bins by the mailboxes at the main road the night before so they can be picked up the next morning. Bring bins promptly back to the home after trash pick up because the city imposes fees. Please see the refrigerator for complete instructions about check out and trash procedures.

One of the best beach houses my family and I have rented over the years. The house was spacious, clean, and had fantastic views. The host made sure our stay was enjoyable and was great with communication. This was our second stay in this home and I’m sure we’ll be back for a third.

Weekend getaway

My family and I had an anniversary party in Surf City to attend and needed somewhere that would sleep 6-7 and with an elevator. This beautiful place fit the bill and was located close to the venue as well. It’s also right across the street from the beach access. The kitchen is open to the family room and has wonderful views of the marsh. The master bedroom was roomy and we all loved the fact that each bedroom had a small sound machine. Danielle was responsive and helpful. We will definitely stay here again the next time we plan a trip to Surf City and highly recommend!

Beautiful home with beautiful views

We came for the weekend to visit with family nearby. The house was beautiful inside and out. The views can't be beat! Loved the beach access right across the street. The house was super clean, beds and furniture were comfortable, and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. Would definitely come back and stay here again!

Beautiful Relaxing Gettaway

I am so glad we chose this beautiful house for our getaway. The elevator was a wonder addition as my sister-in-law is not able to do steps! What a blessing!! The view are lovely and we enjoyed a fabulous sunset!

Family vacation

We loved the property. I rent somewhere on the island every year and this house was the cleanest I’ve ever seen. It is very comfortable and a short walk to the beach access. My one and only complaint, is that the kitchen needs new frying pans. Other than that I highly recommend this property.

What a beautiful beach home in a great location with views of the sound and the ocean. This home was VERY well equipped with everything you may need for a short or week long stay. The directions and descriptions were spot on. Definitely a 5 star home on Topsail!

Twice as nice

This was our second time staying at the Driftwood Den. We loved the comfort of familiarity. We love the closeness to the ocean. The elevator comes in handy with bringing in suitcases, groceries, and those of us with asthma. Possibility of staying again is high.

This house has incredible views of the intercoastal waterway from multiple decks. From the front decks you can see the ocean. The beach access is just across the road. The house is perfect for a family (especially a family that needs different temperature ranges as it has two AC units for different floors). We loved this house.

Beautiful home in a fantastic location

We loved our stay even in the off season! The house was, clean, aesthetically beautiful, great decks for viewing of the sound and even some ocean views. Fully equipped, well maintained. Open, airy and great place to gather with family. Easy beach access across the street to catch the sunrise or for enjoying the beautiful beach. Fun area, great beach town vibes! Communication with the owner was great through the entire process. We will be back!

Bachelor Weekend

From start to finish, this place is phenomenal. The ability to just walk a short distance to beach on a busy weekend like Labor Day Weekend was amazing. The space, balconies, mattresses, outside shower, etc. was perfect for 6 of us guys. From start to finish, every single guy said this place is awesome about 5 times a day! 2nd year renting.

My family of 7 adults and 1 child very much enjoyed our stay. For a family as large as us we found the house gave us plenty of space. You only need to cross one road to get to the beach. The beach is never very crowded. There are plenty of near by restaurants. We’ve chosen to stay at this property once a year as it works very well for our family. The property owner has done a wonderful job with communicating guest responsibilities and is very responsive.
