"This could be an amazing hotel with a bit of work, but for the price, it wasn’t bad. The location was excellent, right in the beach a 5 minutes walk to town with a nice restaurant next door. Breakfast was included and was good, not many choices but very good. The pool was clean and very large, enough chairs for everyone and the gardens were excellent. The balcony on my room was huge with a view of pool ocean and gardens.bed was firm and pillows were perfect. For improvement- no mattress cover and thin sheets, towels small, not a lot of drawer space. Bathroom had a no room for toiletries, had a mirror but no ac, would have been nice to have a mirror in the main area of room with the ac. Would definitely stay again and recommend for travellers who don’t expect 4-5 stars"

"This property was everything we could ask for. Upon arrival, Brian, the front desk manager gave us a wonderful briefing explaining everything well and the property has a nice beach an easy walk in one direction where the sunset view is incredible. Head out the other direction just a short drive (or a long walk) and you have Carillo, an incredible beach that is lined with palm trees and so wide and expansive it almost seems private. The hotel room was great and the breakfast was perfect, served around the pool area each morning. A very relaxing, accomodating place, I will definitely stay at again when visiting that area "

"Wonderful staff, even decorated my room for my birthday. Hotel is beautiful, clean, and walking distance to the beach. The pools are lovely, especially the second pool and hot tub."

"Almost everything went poorly. They lost our reservation, took almost an hour to straighten it out. Let us get dinner and said to come back afterwards. We did and a different person asked what room we were in. Said we didn’t know yet- hoped he knew. He gave me one key and told me the villa number. By then it was after 9 pm and we had to stumble around in the dark trying to find our villa on the grounds. All the pathway lights were not working, very scary and dangerous. Couldn’t see a thing. Finally found out place and it was not as they advertise on line. We booked a Jr suite villa with a king bed. We got the most worn out villa on the property. No bright inviting colors, and no king size bed. The bedroom had two queen beds and pretty much no other furniture. There was no bedside table for phones, and the light switch was across the room. The bathroom was actually worse. The shower head was not attached to the hose. There was black mold on the shower walls, ant there were dead and live ants crawling all over the floor of the shower. The bathroom floor was grubby. We we&end exhausted so we went too bed. Spoke to reception in the morning. Came back 5 hours later and nothing changed. Went to reception again and they sent us to speak to the service manager. Took a half hour to track him down. Walked to his desk and then he (Larry) disappeared for another 20 minutes. So rude. When he got back I explained, put it in writing and three days later no fixes. "

"What an awful place. Our main issue apart from the steep hills was the lies told by one of the people in reception. The wi fi in our room was bad for our whole stay and I need wi fi for business. One of the reception people said it had been caused by bad weather and the problem affected the whole place. This was a blatant lie as I checked the speed in reception and it was at least twenty times faster in reception. If only she had been honest and said she knew it was bad in our area but to come up to reception where it is fine. Instead she lied even when I showed her the difference in speed between the two areas. On top of this the food at breakfast was often cold. One day none of the burners were lit under the warming trays and no one had noticed. We had the most expensive room and sitting on it we saw a wall whilst less expensive rooms had glass. They offered to move us to a less expensive room but no mention of a refund. Every body we spoke to was paying less than the 232 pounds we paid for most of the nights but on checking our receipt I noticed one night was way over 300 pounds. Their policy of only 2 capsules of coffee a day was ridiculous. At night the main entrance is poorly lit and one night I tripped on a hose which was laying across the path. The place is very hilly. The music at the pool area was infuriating and totally at odds with the demographic of the mainly elderly guests. And they are not bungalows and it is not beachfront. "
