Bright cabin retreat happily situated 7 miles from Whiteface Mt

This magical retreat with exceptional "cabin in the woods" interiors is nestled on 2.5 acres. It is an architectural saltbox in the heart of the Adirondacks only 7 miles from Whiteface Mountain and 15 miles from Lake Placid. Within walking distance are hiking and cross country ski trails. It is truly a retreat for the body and soul!

Surrounded by your own private forest, this warmly furnished home, with Adirondack touches throughout, has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a great living area, ample dining table space for 8, and large island kitchen will make your family and friends feel welcome. Flick on the gas fireplace and enjoy your own music mixes through the built-in surround sound system. Take the chill off after a day of activities in the steam shower or the jacuzzi for two. The jacuzzi has a heat feature for an extended soak and bubble or jet features. The chef's kitchen has all the tools needed to make any meal just like home. When the weather is right, enjoy the fire pit area or just sit out on the deck.

This home has two queen size beds, two daybeds with trundles. There are multiple TVs with satellite and DVD players, fully equipped kitchen including convection oven and wine cooler, BBQ grill, iron and board, linens, towels and washer/dryer. Wi-Fi has been upgraded to Spectrum FIOS at 300 MPS.

Located one mile from the house is Lake Eaton, where you can canoe or hike around the lake, perfect for children. The community of Au Sable Acres has a tennis court and slightly more ambitious trails; a trail map is in the kitchen. The house is minutes from Au Sable Forks where there is a movie theater, great pizza place, wine store and supermarket. In Wilmington, about a 10 minute car ride, there is a river front beach with volleyball court and picnic area. You can also enjoy the summer concert series in the heart of Jay just down the road from the house. A bit further is the wonder of Lake Placid, about a 20 minute car ride, where you can browse the outlet stores and artisan shops and enjoy lake view delights and dining on Main Street. For a nice day trip, downtown Montreal is about a two hour car ride away.

Other nearby activities in the winter are world class skiing at Whiteface Mountain, bobsled and tubing at the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Center, or ice skating and dog sleigh riding in Lake Placid. In the summer, hiking trails abound as well as fishing holes, golf courses, and boating in Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, or Lake Champlain.

3 Night minimums are required for all Holidays weekends and Ironman weekend.


NO SMOKING - $250 fine

There are two Ring Video doorbells at the front and back door. There are the only two surveillance devices. This is more of a security measure when the house is vacant. If you need to reach me please call or text me directly, do not use the door bell as a means of communication.

You are allowed only one dog and it must be under 50 lbs. If you want to bring two you must ask approval. The dog rules are as follows:

1. Not on furniture or bed
2. Do not wash in tubs - you will FORFEIT your deposit and possibly be charged for additional damages - Steam shower is $4500 and jacuzzi is $4000 plus labor - this has happened, please don't let it be you.
3. IF your dog goes around the firepit or near the stairs entering the house, please pick it up. No one wants to step on it and drag it in their car or the house. Go towards the woods is fine. Please be considerate for the next guest.
4. IF your dogs paws get muddy, please use a hand towel in the utility closet and give a quick wipe. If the dog does track or sheds, please give the house a quick sweep, vacuum or mop. An additional cleaning fee may be imposed by my cleaners; this has happened only twice.
5. You are not permitted to move furniture, especially the daybed trundles from one room to another. You will be fined $100 plus damages to the floor and drywall.
PLEASE NOTE: CHECK IN IS AT 4 PM AND CHECK OUT IS 10 AM SHARP. A $100 FINE WILL BE ASSESSED IF YOU DO NOT ABIDE BY THIS RULE. I CAN BE FLEXIBLE ON CHECK IN AND OUT TIMES BUT YOU MUST CONTACT ME PRIOR TO ARRIVING OR 24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE. THANK YOU

This place was excellent!!! Comfortable, clean, great location and the kitchen had everything we could need for cooking. Used the gas fireplace and grill as well. Loved having the directions for how to used things posted right where you use them! Carlos was very responsive to questions as well! Would recommend this place to anyone! Best way to stay in the Adirondacks.

The property was great for our family of three, and my two friends to stay, and hangout while we toured the Adirondacks. It’s home away from home with all the amenities.

Beautiful property

Wonderful accommodations and location

This was our second time staying at the cabin, so we obviously love it. The neighborhood provides a perfect setting: quiet, beautiful, private, wooded lots with access to miles of trails. House was as described. Had all the amenities needed for a wonderful vacation. Kitchen was well stocked and large enough for cooking meals. All linens and towels were supplied. Wonderful cabin and setting

This cabin was perfect for us, with every amenity we look for in a rental, plus located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The cottage was super clean, spacious, and homey. The kitchen was well-equipped and stocked. The cabin served as a great base for hiking, whether on the neighborhood trail system or in the surrounding peaks. Will definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay!

We have stayed in this lovely house for 1-2 weeks the past few summers. We absolutely love it. Plenty of room to spread out, quiet neighborhood, rustic feeling but great amenities. The house is well-stocked, clean, the owner is easy to get in touch with if needed, the house is as advertised. We look forward to our trip here every year!

Adirondack Gathering

The property was amazing - clean comfortable and beyond what we imagined. There are several gathering spaces to accommodate everyone. The kitchen has everything you could need including a food processor and crockpot. Carlos was a great host who answered every question so promptly and graciously. This is a treasure and I would highly recommend staying here!

Relaxing Fall Get-Away

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing fall getaway in the Adirondacks. This home not only met but exceeded all of our expectations. We visited the areas lakes and villages daily and retreated back to this peaceful and quiet home in the evening. We made several great meals and breakfast daily in the beautifully appointed kitchen. Carlos was a wonderful host and the home is exactly as described in the listing.

Beautiful home with everything you need

This home is very comfortable and well appointed. This is our second time staying here and it was just as wonderful this time as last. Great Place to Relax!

Carlos was a gracious host, he holds a lovely property. Woods all around, teeming with wildlife. The cabin itself is spacious yet cozy- especially that window nook. The cabin is filled with a ton of activities like board games, dvds, and a ping pong table should you want to have a night in. Would come again.

Annual Golf Getaway

This was our annual group of 6 golfers getaway. The property was just as expected…perfect! More than enough room for us, the beds, kitchen, dining and multiple outdoor sitting areas were wonderful . The Adirondack Polywood chairs were the best, no shortcuts there. Now, back to the kitchen, it has everything and was well labeled and organized. You also have a nice covered Weber barbecue area which worked great for us. Hope to rent again next year, same week. Thank you, Carlos we’re very happy and pleased with your property.

Amazing time in ADK

This property was amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. It was even more amazing in person. The house had a wonderfully equipped kitchen, bathroom and linens/towels. We loved the ping pong table and grilled a couple of nights. Everything worked and was very clean and well organized. The only somewhat negatives were the sand (it was like you were on a beach) and with dogs it went everywhere. We had to vacuum every night. Also Lake Placid (where we did most of our sight seeing and dinners out) was a 30+ minute drive each way. So if you want to be in lake placid everyday just be aware of the drive. But that is just nitpicking. We would definitely stay here again!

Spacious, well-equipped getaway house

We spent a week in this wonderful property. It is nicely decorated, well-equipped and spacious inside. The beds are comfy and there are ceiling fans throughout. There are multiple decks and a great fire-pit outside. Even with multiple people, you can find some private space and time. Instructions are printed throughout the house, and every cabinet and drawer is labeled so it is easy to find everything. The kitchen was one of the best-equipped we've found in multiple rentals! The owner is very responsive - we had one minor glitch with the TV and he responded immediately and helped us solve the issue. The ping pong table in the basement was a welcome diversion during the rainy spells. We highly recommend this house and the location. Don't miss going to Ausable Chasm! Thank you, Carlos!
