"Semarah Lielupe hotel is the best in the area. The location is walkable to the sea and the surrounding area is beautiful and safe. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and very professional. They cater to all your needs and respond immediately. The amenities of the hotel are amazing: spa service, gym, pool and saunas. There is a lot of people accommodated in the hotel, but the service is quick and impeccable. I would highly recommend the hotel. Been staying in it second year in a row and would return back . Irena"
"I have stayed frequently at the Elefant which is near the anir and the city. Its is a quality hotel with a good value. Hotel manager Zhanna and Restaurant manager Christina are professional, kind and conscientious. Breakfast is a great value.

"Very nice modern comfortable room in a recent addition to the hotel. The only inconvenience was that one of us had to wait in the car on the street, while the other went to the reception to pay for the parking and get the instructions on how to get there. Fortunately, the line at the reception was not very long at that time. After parking, we had to line up at the reception for check-in again. The parking was only a few minutes walk to the hotel along a closed street in the old town. There is a very big (mostly food) market at about 10 min walk from the hotel. "

The hotel appears to have been converted from a communist area apartment block, but it works fine as a hotel. It is, however, starting to get a bit tired, and while fine for the money, the rooms will soon need refurbishment, for example the vinyl flooring in my room was beginning to peel slightly in a couple of places, and the bathroom was beginning to show its age. A bit out of town, but there is a good bus service to the centre. and the market next door is interesting. was happy with this hotel, which was clean, and good value for money."
