The American Colony is a superb hotel! It is an oasis of calm and hospitality in busy Jerusalem! The staff is excellent! The hotel itself is gorgeous - historic with all of the modern amenities. I have traveled the world, and it may be my favorite hotel!

I stayed at this hotel when I was 4 and it left such an impression that I’ve dreamed of coming back. Now, approaching my 50th birthday, I discovered little of the luxury or experienced changed - it just got better!!!! The rooms, the hospitality, the grounds, the experience - it was timeless excellence!

This hotel has seen its best days. It’s tired and desperately in need of a refresh. The charming old work decor is tacky and out dated. The staff were so nice but often lack competence. E’g bringing room service but forgetting the cutlery. At these prices everything should be first class. The pool and garden are fabulous. A perfect oasis. There is nothing nearby to eat or go out. You’ll need a taxi. The food was also very disappointing. Very poor standard considering their target market.

Times are difficult; but I had always wanted to go to Israel. A wedding in Tel Aviv finally gave us a reason. Not only was Jerusalem a must, but also the famous American Colony Hotel. The reception was friendly and exceptionally helpful. The kind gentleman there immediately helped us book two tours in Jerusalem. It was already late, but the bar was still open, and you could sit in a beautiful courtyard under palm trees. There were delicious salads with feta, hummus, and BBQ, along with a wide selection of international wines and cocktails; the waiter—both waiters—were very friendly. Just a few minutes in this hotel makes you feel well taken care of. (If you don’t arrive at 11 p.m. but a bit earlier, one or two other restaurants are still open.) We liked it so much there that we were already looking forward to going back the next evening. The rooms are large and spacious, clean, and equipped with everything you need. You sleep very well. And the next morning, there’s a breakfast buffet that also leaves nothing to be desired. Its reputation is well-deserved; it’s a perfect hotel. One of the most beautiful I’ve ever stayed in. Upon checking out, we immediately said we’d be back. Thank you very much for the excellent service.

The American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem is SUPERB! The beautiful hotel is just blocks from the Old City of Jerusalem. The facilities are amazing - keeping the historic features with all of the modern ammenities. The staff are the BEST!! My favorite hotel in the world!!
