"Superb property in the countryside, but in a small village and within a few miles of a main highway. The property was very well maintained; the rooms spacious and clean; modern and large bathroom; nice pool area; lovely host & super breakfast. We are certainly looking to stop off here again, for a longer stay, in the future."

Lovely friendly couple who have turned their 19c priory into a b & b, retaining all the character and architecture of the period, as well as the furniture. "We (retired Brit couple) have stayed at Val Moret many times over 20 years or so. Dinner at the restaurant is always a highlight and the most recently acquired chef has increased the already delicious standards. Rooms are clean and comfortable, all one needs for a night’s journey stopover. (I suspect few people book a week’s holiday here but a few nights would be entirely reasonable). During 2025 there are building works progressing toward enlargement of the restaurant and reception. The work isn’t at all disruptive or intrusive, particularly for rooms further away. If the end result enhances the bar area that will be a great improvement, as the existing bar facilities are about the only thing that let the place down currently. We haven’t used the spa but it looks good. Finally, credit must be given to famille Marisy (and particularly to Mme, who apparently never sleeps) who work tirelessly for the comfort of their guests. It’s really good to see a family business thriving in this ever increasingly conglomerate dominated industry."

"Room was like a dormitory! Very dated facilities that are in need of modernisation. Very expensive for what it is. Disappointed that the swimming pool was not open - it was not noted on the website about being closed over winter. Also disappointed that as guests we would have to pay €6 per person for the mini golf - extortionate price. Good meal at the restaurant though."
