What a waste and completely overrated.

The check in wasn't a problem. Though he needed proof I had paid. The wifi password was incorrect so I went home to mail it to him. I only booked coz it was my husbands birthday. I live 6 km from the hotel. The room allocated didn't have a balcony or patio as on the booking. The bathroom fittings were falling out. The room overlooked a scrap yard and had insects flying outside the window. The pool was very dirty and couldn't be used. I asked for pool towels and they had to go somewhere else to get it. The pool area was smelling of cow dung. There is nothing to do at the hotel so my stay was a waste. The breakfast was very basic. 3 cereals, one juice, a plate of cut fruit, yogurt in bulk and tin peaches. Bread. Three muffins and egg. With veg for omelette. The only positive was that they prepared a cake which was put together from the leftover cake of the night before from the wedding at the venue and which I attended.

Great spa, not so great hotel.

Staff were great attitude wise. Room was very large, but the decor not my taste. Specifically booked a room with a balcony and first got given one without. Dinner was terrible. Covid had a big impact on this property. The spa was however amazing.

We went in for a day spa. The staff were welcoming and went far and beyond to make us feel welcome. Accolades to the manager on duty who was extremely nice

Good, but was expecting twin beds and got King bed. Not appropriate when two men have to sleep on a King bed after booking twin beds.

Excellent

We were extremely happy with our stay, service and location was excellent. However, i would appreciate if clear signs are erected showing the reception area. Due to lack of proper signs, we parked at the old section near the spa and after 10 mins were directed to the reception area. This was the only problem we experienced. overall we had a very good stay.

Not expected at a 4 star hote.

Place needs a serious revamp and proper management. almost no water pressure in the rooms and no plugs next to the bed. And they cant be bothered to organise an extension cord for us. Only instant coffee in the rooms and at breakfast. TV picture quality is terrible and the bathrooms can do with some spring cleaning. The Spa was great though.

Velmore... a hidden gem!

We really enjoyed our stay at Velmore, the place is absolutely beautiful, the rooms and bathrooms are big, modern and comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the staff is amazing because they're so friendly and helpful!

our stay was just fine. Although we couldn't get hold of housekeeping officials. Left without breakfast as it was only to be served at 7:00 as opposed to the 6:30

The views are stunning. Staff are as warm and friendly as you could possibly want. As a business traveler, I did not get to fully enjoy the beauty of the facilities and the surroundings. I'll definitely be returning for pleasure at some point in the near future.

An average stay

The condition of the room and the public areas were not great. We expected better. The bed was too soft. The room was clean. The TV only had 5 channels. The room telephone wasn't working. There were many maintenance issues. Breakfast was average. The coffee was very watered down. The service overall was average.

Quiet and restful.

Having looked around for hotels between Johannesburg and Pretoria to visit family over the Christmas period, we chose the Velmore Grande as our 12 night stay. We weren't disappointed at all. Comfortable, roomy and a balcony set the scene with views over the courtyard. We made use of the attached spa, for a massage under the stars, which was outstanding. The staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possibly. Food was acceptable and equal to any hotel service, with plenty of it. Would definitely go back.

It was okay however the followings need to improve, communication morning of our departure there was no water and no one bother to tell us, dinner food was not good at all and table and chairs on the balcony dusty look like it was cleaned a year ago,swimming pool water was so dirty look like fish ponds and finally wifi was not connecting and one thought that it was a marketing strategy knowing that there is noting to offer.

Experienced so many issues from no heating,no clean water pipes were dirty so water came out muddy.Booked luxury offered downgrade to standard.Checked in at 2pm and only got settled into a room after 10pm the whole time being moved from different parts of the hotel including the empty building on site haaaa it was a nightmare

Very dissapointing for a 4 star hotel.

The bathroom was poorly lit, especially the toilet are which made it uncomfortable to use at night when it was quite dark even with the lights switched on.. The restaurant was not open for lunch and so we had to have a local eatery deliver food to the hotel. The bed was only made at 2pm the next day. After our return from our morning out we seen that the linen was not placed yet. The hotel had cobwebs on most chandeliers and was not very clean in the reception. The balcony was a mess and was only cleaned the second day of our stay.
