The Space:
Black Sky House is a special resort-style vacation retreat and was newly built in 2022. The house sits on 2 acres of land with big and beautiful Joshua trees surrounding the property. The private pool and jacuzzi are super beautiful and comfortable during all seasons. It perfectly satisfies families and friends gathering in high privacy.

The property is a modern desert retreat, situated in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood while maintaining the feeling of cool isolation, whether indoors or outdoors. The decor is modern yet very comfortable. Restaurants, shops, and the National Park are all a short 10-minute drive away.

The property features a spacious kitchen for gourmet cooking, an open layout living and dining area, one master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and bathtub, two additional guest bedrooms, a comfortable queen-size sofa bed, and one full bathroom. You and your family and friends can enjoy the pool and nature with high privacy. Keep your vehicle out of the heat in the covered carport and stay cool in the shaded area. Our indoors have a modern nest cooling system, which always keeps the house comfortable in all seasons.

The entire property has three bedrooms with king-size beds in each and an additional queen-size sofa bed. The maximum capacity is 8.

Parties, Events or Extra guests
We do not allow guests to throw parties or events at our property.

Please be reminded that all extra guests should be approved by the host before arrival and needs to depart by 9 p.m. as per the county's STR Reinforcement Code. Any unapproved visitors will be charged $200 per person, according to the house rules in the listing. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

—Parking
There is a carport parking space for one vehicle, as well as a driveway in front of the house.

—Oven
Please make sure to turn on the vent while using the oven; otherwise, the carbon alarm will ring.

—Smart TV
We have a smart TV in the house; please connect it to your account.

—Air Conditioning
We provide central air conditioning in the house, which has smart control and is easy to operate.

Jacuzzi( no extra fees)
Please shower before using. Please don’t put any liquid or solid soap into it; any extra costs that occur will be charged. The guests will assume all liability and responsibility for your own safety.

You will have access to turn on the jacuzzi from the property. There will be a remote in the living room. Please see the guidebook for further instructions on how to properly use it

—Pool heating—
The maximum pool heating request is for 5 days because the propane tank is limited and scheduled to refill every week. Please also note that pool heating and spa heating cannot happen simultaneously.

The pool can be heated; please notify us one day before your arrival if you’d like to heat it up. The pool temperature will be heated up to 85 degrees. The pool heating fee is $180/day from May to September and $250/day from October to April. The pool heating fees will be added on top of the nightly fees. (There are no extra fees for the jacuzzi.)

Anyone under 18 needs his or her parent’s presence while swimming or near the pool for safety reasons. No diving and no glass near the pool. The guests will take full liability and responsibility for your own and their guests safety.

Please note that the pool service is between 8 a.m. and and 2pm every Monday and Thursday

—Pets
We love pets. Your fur friends are welcome with an additional fee of $60 per pet per stay. (maximum 2 pets allowed). You are required to disclose this before booking. We simply ask that you clean up after your pet during your stay.
However, they are not allowed to swim in the pool. Please be mindful, as their fur can cause the pool filters to build up.
Please be aware of desert plants and keep your pets away from them. We strongly suggest you use a leash and accompany your pets while running in the yard because the cactus might hurt. You are 100% responsible for yourself and your pets.

—Broken Items
We understand that accidents happen. If anything breaks down, even if it's your fault, let us know so we can send someone to fix it or replace it for you and future guests (contact information is attached above in the emergency contact section).

—Plumbing
All houses in Joshua Tree are on a septic tank system. For this reason, nothing can be flushed down the toilet except toilet paper. Following these guidelines will avoid problems with the plumbing. If it is determined that the pipes have been clogged due to misuse, a $200 repair fee will be charged. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please let us know if there are any serious stains on the furniture or floors, or if there is damage to anything, and we will try our best to fix it ASAP.

—Security Camera
According to the requirements from the insurance company, there are security cameras facing the house entrance and back entrance.

Our property is a beautiful place to shoot photos and videos, we welcome you to tag us on IG @visithideaway. Any shoots for commercial purposes are priced at a different rate and must be cleared with us in advance of your stay. If you are in doubt, inquire first. We will charge $5000 per violation, plus a production fee of up to $575 per hour.

—No-Smoking
Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not allowed on the property or within 15 feet of the exterior door. Please dispose of cigarettes in a plastic bag and put them in the outdoor trash can. If the above is not maintained, we will charge a $100 special cleaning fee. Please smoke outside and dispose of your cigarettes in the trash.

—Checking Out
Please check out of the property rented by 11:00 a.m. Checking out by this time ensures that we have enough time to clean the property and get it ready for our next guest. For any late check-out, we reserve the right to charge $200 if it exceeds 20 minutes and a half-day rate if it exceeds one hour.

Other things to note

WILDLIFE:

The desert is wild, and if you are very sensitive to insects, mice and bugs, it may not be for you. If you leave a door open, animals flies, bugs and more might run in. There are indeed rare sightings of snakes, ants and spiders out here. We love it, and so do most of our guests, but it is just a friendly reminder that we are indeed in the wild. And we are always more than happy to have a creature safely relocated if you find it to be a threat.

Smart Lock: The passcode will be provided two days before arrival.

The Neighborhood:
Black Sky House-Pool & Spa is situated in one of the most desirable neighborhoods "on the mesa" in Joshua Tree.

This perfect central location is only 10 minutes to the picturesque Joshua Tree National Park where you can rock climb, go hiking, go horseback riding, join in on a ranger talk, go biking, stargazing or just pack your camera and capture the unique landscape and wildlife that the park has to offer.

Head to Yucca Valley Town, which has many small, unique shops filled with antiques and gift items; visit one-of-a-kind restaurants; and drop into the local cafe to get your latte or espresso with a homemade sandwich or croissant.

Getting Around:
You will need a car, but rideshares and taxis are also readily available.

The pet fee is $60 per pet per stay. Extra guests are $50 per guest per night.
