  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

Absolutely beautiful stay in this scenic and tranquil area just around the corner from a historic Chateaux. We travelled with our assistance dog and he loved the huge garden and the river. The room was kept cool from the river which was a blessing in the summer heat. The owners are simply lovely and did everything they could to look after us. The breakfast was more than we could eat! Highly recommend staying here if you want a few nights of restful peace.

Denise et Mark, deux sujets britanniques, sont juste parfaits dans leur façon d'accueillir leurs visiteurs. Nous avons essentiellement eu à faire à Denise, notamment pour les petits déjeuners, qui sont copieux et délicieux. La décoration est soignée.

Superbe séjour, chambres très agréables, Denise et Mark sont aux petits soins. Le gîte est situé dans un endroit extraordinaire, une petite vallée, une rivière et un magnifique château !
