A spacious country retreat, perfect for families and groups.



Rose Cottage is a fully renovated four-bedroom, two-bathroom holiday home (with an additional two WCs) set in a tranquil rural environment. Renovated in 2019, it blends modern comfort with country charm — the perfect base to gather with family and friends for a weekend escape while exploring Martinborough, Greytown, and the stunning South Wairarapa coast.



Designed with groups in mind, the cottage comfortably suits up to three couples plus children, or four couples. Inside, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen and Weber BBQ for shared meals, along with plenty of entertainment for all ages: a summer swimming pool (Labour Weekend to Easter), trampoline, playhouse, foosball, table tennis, an attic play area, and plenty of space outdoors to roam and explore the orchard. 



The entire house, garden, and pool (summer months) are yours to enjoy, offering great views, peaceful sunsets, and true country quiet. Entry is via lockbox, and we’re always just a phone call away if you need us during your stay.



To keep you comfy in summer, fans are provided throughout the house. In winter, we recommend enjoying the cozy atmosphere from the wood burner, or opt to use the electric heaters spread throughout the house. 



While the property feels wonderfully private, it shares a driveway with two other houses — the closest about 150m and two gardens away. A car is recommended for exploring the region’s highlights, from vineyards to boutique shops to coastal walks.



Pricing is based on the first four guests, with additional charges for extra people. 



Being in the country brings its own adventures, and we ask that children are supervised, especially near the frog pond or the stock trough in the neighbouring paddock. Well behaved pets are welcome, meaning you can bring all the family - but that there may be farm stock nearby and the house is fenced to keep stock out, not dogs in. 



Rose Cottage is a place for relaxation and reconnection. We have a strict no-parties policy and do not host bachelor/bachelorette/hens-style events.

Fantastic Family Stay

Amazing stay in the country

We had an extended family stay with nanna, smaller kids and teenagers. The house is fantastic- well equipped practically and full of fun stuff to keep the kids entertained. The location is fantastic. Very close to Featherston and Martinborough but you still feel very much in the countryside. The pool was a delightful added bonus. Great stay

We hardly needed to leave the property

So much for our grandchildren to do. Of course the swimming pool was the main attraction but board games, biking down to bmx track at nearby school, playing spotlight at night and table tennis also kept them entertained Excellent communication with Mellany.

Great family getaway

Beautiful home well suited for our family and dog who had a blast running around. The pool was a hit for the kids and the adults loved the wonderful outdoor hot bath under the stars. We had everything we needed to make the stay comfortable. Only a short drive to martinborough to enjoy the vineyards! Absolutely recommend

Rose Cottage is fantastic

Rose Cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. Mel is a thoughtful host and we appreciated the extra supplies to start our summer holiday. Rose Cottage is a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy quality family time. There is plenty to keep the kids occupied during the day including the swimming pool, trampoline and table tennis. Everything we needed

We arrived to a beautifully clean house, with a very well appointed kitchen. Plenty of room for the 4 adults and 5 boys in our party. The boys loved the availability of toys especially the laser tag! It was a little chilly for playing prolonged table tennis, but they loved it all the same. Rooms were warm and comfy with the extra sources of heating, and of course the log fire. I think we made use of everything, including the outside bath under a starry sky, we'll be booking again.

The perfect family getaway!

What a wonderful cottage with the most peaceful surroundings. Perfect for kids who loved the attic so much it was hard to get them to leave! The house is absolutely lovely and very well stocked- made for a very relaxing weekend away!

A short break in the rain

What an amazing place. Very comfortable and very well finished. Heavy rain from cyclone Dovi meant we had to stay indoors but the gin deck and lounge area were perfect. Even the pool and table tennis got a try out.

Fantastic escape to the country

We had a fantastic weekend at this beautiful house. This was our best holiday house experience - every detail has been thought about, oodles of entertainment and excitement for children (3-6 year olds), plenty of relaxation spots for the adults and close to Martinborough for meals and wine. We would absolutely come back!

Lovely, peaceful country house

Thank you so much for making your beautiful property available! The location is very quiet and relaxing, the house is spacious and well set up. My 8 year old loved the attic room, and both he and his older brother spent lots of time in the pool. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back another time.
