After traveling from Vermont, Colorado, and New Zealand, our family converged on Kona Beach Est. to celebrate my 75th birthday. The house and property are magnificent offering surroundings and amenities that surpass a luxury resort hotel, e,g. wood fired outdoor pizza oven, a well planned spacious lanai with fully equipped bar, outdoor fridge and tv, pool, spa, lawn games, dining and lounging areas, and comfy lounges for sunbathing. The privacy offered by the beach just beyond the lanai is amazing. Snorkels, masks, fishing rod, and pool /beach toys are all supplied. Our hostess, Karen, has thought of everything and spared no expense to make her guests feel at home and comfortable. Did I mention the electric awning over the gas and charcoal BBQ’s in case of rain, the electric shades in the large bedrooms, and the chef’s kitchen that is better stocked than most home kitchens? The house is so inviting that we could have stayed without ever leaving, but Karen and her knowledgeable and eager to help property manager, Michelle, provided many ideas for trips to off the beaten path beaches, sites of geological interest, star gazing opps, swimming with manta rays, restaurants, and more. Sunsets from the lanai dazzled us each night. Thank you for the wonderful memories our family made at this special property. I would stay no other place on the Big Island. The unexpected homemade birthday cake you had in the fridge when we arrived and cool B’day card kind of says it all. Maholo
