"This was our first stop on arrival in Sri Lanka and it didn’t disappoint. The staff are wonderful, the food was gorgeous and the setting by the lake was idyllic. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have high ceilings and views of the lake. Altogether a great start to our holiday."

"Staff and food both fantastic "

"Check-in was smooth and the location is convenient, but my main issue was the overall condition of the property. The photos online don’t reflect the current state very accurately. During my stay there was construction work underway, including installation of a second lift, which made the shared areas dusty and the environment noticeably noisy. The restaurant also felt quite dated and looked neglected. The room itself also needed attention. The general upkeep felt tired and outdated, with paint marks, visible nails left in the walls where pictures were missing, and water stains on the walls. Even small details were overlooked—there were empty information folders with no useful content, and the telephone in the room wasn’t working. While it’s not directly the hotel’s fault, the adjoining premises appeared abandoned, and the pool there had stagnant water and a strong, unpleasant smell. Unfortunately, the odor made it uncomfortable to stay in the room at times, and the view of the pool with putrid water was very unpleasant. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful, and dinner was ok."

"What a special place! My room was spotless and the staff were warm, kind, and attentive, and always willing to help with whatever I needed. The setting is fabulous - right on the ocean with a magnificent pool. The sea breeze was delightfully cooling as we ate delicious meals in the restaurant. The small raft was a super fun way to access the hotel when we arrived, and added to the tropical adventure atmosphere. "

"The pool is fantastic and the staff are extremely warm and welcoming. The gardens are pretty and our room was spacious, clean and the air conditioning, bed and shower were all good. The entertainment amenities (bikes, golf, tennis, games room etc) are very dated and could use a refresh - but we were mainly there for the pool and to break up the journey to Wilpattu after flying into Colombo, so it was fine for us and what we needed. There is nothing around the resort so best to book the all-inclusive or half board unless you have a driver. "
