Reception & cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Grounds are lovely. Breakfast is substantial. Room was very comfortable. There are many steps (46) to get down from the main level to the beach level.
The view was spectacular. I liked that it wasn’t in the noisy areas bombarded with kids partying. The breakfast included was so delicious. Huge variety of food. More air conditioning in certain areas of the hotel would have been great. Difficult to navigate the air conditioner in room. Way too many big rocks at the beach and not enough chairs. I wish the hotel sold rubber shoes to enter the beach. Most staff were friendly but had some arrogant girls working at pool bar. Was always afraid to ask for things without attitude. Wasn’t necessary.

HORRIBLE STAY AT MESSENIAN BAY...
First this hotel was 3 stars, and not 4 stars, inside building is old, the rooms small, the front view was ok and swimming was fine. The first day we arrived tierd of travelling and wanted to eat at the hotel, they told us there was a la carte food. So we went and told us cause they are end of saison they don't have so many choice, only pizza and burger, so we order, then they told us after there is not pizza either. The next day we want to stay at the pool and wanted to order some snacks, no snacks either, only coffee. So we have to leave the hotel 2 days before the date of checkout. We went to another hotel better than... We wasent happy at all...

Although the hotel is clean, the service in general didn’t meet my expectations of a hotel in this price category (roughly 150 Euro).! The staff often answered questions reluctantly, such as how to get to the city centre by bus. They seemed to get irritated easily and generally their level of english was very basic, so it wasn’t always easy to make oneself understood. Protection of the environment is not an issue at all, towels and bedsheets are replaced every day unquestioningly. It is not allowed to swim in the pool before ten o‘clock while there is still shade on the water. The choice of food and drinks in the hotel is not very big and without a car it’s difficult to get to a nice restaurant (dangerous road without sidewalk). Most eating places around the hotel are bustling beach bars with mainly unhealthy, not typically greek food.
The best aspect of the hotel is the little quiet pebble beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, a very nice place to chill out with perfectly clean sea water.
We like most of everything about this hotel except for the shower water. The pressure of the water in the shower was very weak and the temperature of the water was not consistent. It went cold then hot constantly during our shower times.
This is a great value in the Kalamata area. The only downside is that you are not right on the beach, but that is more than offset by the fact that, unlike the beach front, it is quiet, every room has a spectacular view and you don't even have to cross the street to go to the beach. The staff are great. The beach front bar is great. Very good, classic Greek food as well. Can't go wrong with this place.

The hotel is outdated and really tired looking. It’s only redeeming quality is the pool area and sensational sunsets.
The rooms are basic at best. The bathrooms are small. It felt like a dormitory not like a hotel.

Frühstück GR-Standard also 3-.
