"We are very happy about our stay: the house is in a calm area but not too far from the main road ; Suresh has been a great host and very helpful to plan the rest of our trip. We asked for a typical local breakfast, which was very good and we enjoyed Suresh's explanations on the different dishes. Definitely recommended!"

"Beautiful Geoffrey Bowa- designed boutique hotel set in a beautifully tended garden. This is our second stay & it didnt disappoint. The staff remembered us after 4 years! "I spent 2 nights at this beautiful property, and I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by the staff. "The staff were wonderful and much more helpful and friendly than the management. The room was wonderful and the food was good. It is further from the beach than other reviewers indicate but they have a very inexpensive tuk tuk service available. The pool is small but fits the bill when it is hot out and you don't want to go to the beach."

"Mount Lavinia hotel is in an amazing location with a phenomenal view. The F&B staff and food is excellent and very friendly. There was a games room with a pool table and table tennis table which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. There is work to be done in renovating the hotel and parts of the building to restore it to it’s former grandeur, but all in all a great place to base yourself and enjoy the beautiful and serene waves, lovely pool and mesmerising sunset you can see on the terrace. Note that some rooms have been renovated to a modern feel whilst others are not and have an old world charm to them- so factor that in when booking to best suit your holiday preferences "

"I had high expectations of this place but was very disappointed! They charged me extra $80 for no valid reason and the people at the front desk all gave different answers when I asked about the extra charge not knowing what was going on. I need a refund ! I was traveling with family kids and elderly they were inconsiderate of allergy and elderly needs and did not help us with warming our food so we had to go without dinner. The staff was so rude and unhelpful and objected the ladies going into the pool. The rooms bathrooms and fridge were dirty and stained ….. not recommended! "

"We had a great 4 night stay at Ahu Bay. It was nice that Nilanga messaged ahead to discuss arrival time. Having a room right on the beach was a real treat and the private pool was kept spotless by the team. The team couldn’t do more for us during our stay, making adjustments to cocktails to suit ours tastes. We ate at hotel twice and both times really enjoyed the dishes we tried, it’s clear there’s a talented chef in the kitchen! "
