Disappointing room, lights did not work, no coffee pot, no kettle no shampoo conditioner, inadequate bedding . Thrift store furnishings. Beds and room clean but all in all in dire need of refresh. Not sure how some of the ratings rated 8/10 or 10/10?

Nice city center hotel!
Nice city hotel with character and atmosphere. Good breakfast, but the shower could need an upgrade. Would stay here again!

Convenient location and great breakfast
Very convenient, other than the fact that it was hard to find from the tram stop by following Google maps directions, due to all the road construction. It didn't impact on my stay at all, however. Very convenient, good wifi, lovely breakfast!

Just one night stay. The buffet breakfast is wonderful, the staff are very friendly and helpful. But there is no air-conditioning, it was 30 degree that day, hard to sleep. The shower drain was blocked.

Fabulous breakfast. Parking nearby but subway construction project made it more difficult to find. Very close to old section and Palace area. Quiet, clean, comfortable room.

Hotel centro is very good. The hotel is decorated in a mature design.everything was clean and tidy. The room was spacious with comfy bed,leather sofa, tv,table and chairs etc.The only minus is the bathroom, although nicely fully tiles and furnished. Is a bit on the small size,if it's 50% bigger then ir would be perfect.

Staff was very helpful. Location was good. Breakfast is good too. The room was pretty clean but there was a dust around scales (not working) in the bathroom and i found a cockroach after i move the scales. Refrigerator included but not a kettle.

Decent place at a very competitive price and with exceptionally friendly staff. Our room was sufficiently large and very clean. However, with a main street just outside the window and no A/C, it was either too warm or too loud to sleep really well. It's probably a good idea to pay extra for a room not facing the street. They offer a basic breakfast and have a sauna in the basement. The location is really good, city center is but a short walk away.

Kriegsstrasse is under reconstruction, construction worker's noise starts as early as 7am. The room is without air conditioner and fan does not help when the temperature is above 30 degrees. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent and it features a nice hot sauna free of charge. Breakfasts are also delicious. Proximity both to the train station and to the city center (half-way) is also an important asset for staying here.

It happened that my one-week stay was at a time in the summer that had 35+ Celsius every day. I agonized and regret enormously not double checking there is air conditioning in the room. However, as the rooms face south and there's nothing in between the hotel and a busy multiple-lanes road, air conditioning is a must even in lower degrees!

Good value centrally located in Karlsruhe
Very happy with the hotel. Friendly receptionist. Just a short walk to the centre of Karlsruhe where there are lots of shops and restaurants. Bedroom was clean and with a massive TV. Good choice of breakfast. Only comment was that it was very definitely a single room, but for the low price wasn't a problem.

Something different!
If you like Travelodge beige, stop reading now! This former brothel has kept it's character, but not in a grubby way. The fixtures and furnishings are definitely ott, but this is it's charm - it's definitely different. If you look carefully, there are signs of wear and tear in places, but the furniture in our room looked virtually new and the bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. As for practicalities, it is very handy for both rail and bus stations. Perhaps the only slight downside is the lack of a lift, but this isn't a problem unless you have mobility difficulties. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is the usual selection, though it did vary from day to day. The area is mainly Turkish/Kurdish and so has a real buzz of activity during the day, but being Muslim, the locals do not stagger around in drunken groups at night, so it's peaceful for sleeping. Despite this, bars and restaurants of many types are within a few minutes walk. Definitely the best place I've ever stayed in Hamburg!

Well located hotel with a great free breakfast
This hotel had a good location and it is in a very pretty building. My room was big and had a nice view of the street below but it had a really bad smell to it. It was a bit hard to breathe for the first hour. I tried to change my room but there were no other rooms available. The wifi was also very weak and barely worked. On the plus side the free breakfast was very nice and the room where breakfast is served is very pretty.

Better than expected
This very low priced hotel was excellent. Refurbished well from a quaint old place to a quaint new place. Great atmosphere. The only down side was the size of the bathroom but otherwise it was excellent.

Dirty towels from the start that were simply hung back up instead of being changed (though I had put them on the floor to be changed), a horrible smell in the wardrobe, a shower that fell half apart when opening/closing, TV as well as half the lamps were not working, and so many more small things that just felt uncomfortable. For the price you can’t expect a luxury hotel but a basic level of cleanliness should be offered.. I’m not going to come back.

Prinzipiell OK. Positiv: Frühstück war sehr gut. Es gab alles was das Herz begehrt. Es ist sauber - beim Check-In. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel gleich um die Ecke. Das Personal ist freundlich, könnte aber durchaus eine Schulung vertragen was Sehenswürdigkeiten, Stadtführungen ect. betrifft. In der Hinsicht sind sie leider ahnungslos. Negativ: Laut Internetbeschreibung werden die Zimmer täglich gereinigt. Dem ist leider nicht so. Nach der ersten Nacht hieß es: "Das Housekeeping hat heute zeitig Feierabend gemacht weil es so schön warm war." Nach der zweiten Nacht teilte man mir mit, dass die Zimmerreinigung bei "Bleibern" erst nach 3 Nächten erfolgt. Ich habe aber wenigstens saubere trockene Handtücher an der Rezeption erhalten (unsere wollten einfach nicht trocknen). Ich erwarte wirklich keinen täglichen Handtuchwechsel und mein Bett kann ich auch allein machen, ein kleiner Hinweis im Zimmer neben den Wasserflaschen auf dem Tisch hätte genügt um die Gäste zu informieren dass die Zimmer momentan nicht täglich sondern erst nach 3 Tagen gereinigt werden - das würde schlechten Kritiken vorbeugen. Ich arbeite selbst im Hotelgewerbe an der Rezeption. Ich weiß, dass wir an akutem Arbeitskräftemangel leiden. Aber den Gast so zu täuschen und noch zu behaupten, dass überall steht, dass die Zimmer erst nach 3 Tagen zwischengereinigt werden, finde ich persönlich nicht OK. Zusammengefasst: Ich würde wieder dort übernachten. Jetzt weiß ich ja dass die Zimmer selten gereinigt werden.
