The property appears to be in need of significant maintenance & investment. I couldn’t help but joke that the “palace” seems to have been conquered not by invading armies, but by Father Time. Time laid siege years ago & maintenance never quite reclaimed it. Many areas look weathered & neglected.
Unfortunately, our stay reflected that first impression. Reception signage pointed us toward the pool, parking lacked direction, & a male employee greeted my confusion with annoyed expressions & hand gestures rather than hospitality, interaction with him throughout my stay was the same demeanor. After I explained I was simply following the signs, he redirected me.
Check-in was slow with little acknowledgment despite having a prepaid reservation. The room was dated, the sheets had stains, & the shower curtain liner had black mildew.
The bright spot was the young pool attendant, who was friendly, attentive & the only staff member who truly delivered great customer service.
The restaurant balcony above the pool looked so worn that I personally avoided swimming beneath it. While I can’t speak to its structural condition, its appearance was concerning. The kids’ pool water also appeared noticeably different in color than the main pool.
If you’re unfamiliar with the area, arrive during daylight. The hotel sits along a main road, but confusing signage & parking make nighttime arrival unnecessarily difficult. I had a rental car, so I can’t comment on public transportation.
