This hotel is fine for the bargain traveler. Clean bedding, tv with many English channels, open rooftop lounge for nice weather, friendly and helpful staff. It is a rather old building and those looking for luxury should look elsewhere. There was plenty of hot water for the shower, and they brought me dinner in my room. Food was good. The only complaint may be outside the hotel's power to rectify. I came back to my room at 7 pm, cold and tired, and was looking forward to a little telly and a nice space heater. But they informed me the power would be off till midnight. This is not an uncommon occurrence in Kathmandu, but it is daunting when you are cold. I crawled into bed with my jeans still on, a scarf around my head, and two large quilts to keep me warm. The heater came on at 10 pm, so I did have heat into the night. Nothing fancy, but a bargain pricewise. Just for comparison, we did not have heat at a much more expensive room at the Garden Plaza either...technical problems that they never did fix.
