Cottage is well-maintained, very clean and exactly as described. Very spacious and had everything needed. We were able to swim right off the dock and amazing fishing. The most amazing sunsets every evening. Hosts were great!!
Comfortable cottage with great views but for us the lake was not suitable for swimming. Good choices for restaurants. Drove to Fenellon Falls for beautiful park, and great swimming.
We had a lovely few days at this clean, bright and airy cottage on Sturgeon Lake. Great sunsets. Lake is a bit weedy for swimming but excellent for paddleboarding etc. We could have done with one or two more pots and pans for cooking, and a kettle, but otherwise the cottage was well equipped and nicely decorated. Definitely recommend!
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay, place was very clean and had everything we needed from towels to cooking supplies to sports equipment's (need wine glasses) :) Bed in basement a bit springy but one upstairs is perfect. The water is weedy and can get a bit dirty but that's mother nature nothing on owners, we had a great swim once out far enough. The sunset and fire place outside is perfect for an evening under the stars.
Thank you Luca/Jemi for allowing us a later check out at 12:30pm, made our departure less stressful.
The cottage is in a beautiful spot right on the lake, and was equipped very well for water activities. Swimming is a challenge because of all the plants and seaweed, but that comes with a shallow lake. The cottage was clean, and very comfortable. It does state air conditioning but it doesn't work very well. The outdoor fireplace was well stocked with wood. Beautiful deck to sit on right on the lake with Muskoka Chairs. We had 5 adults showering everyday and never ran out of hot water. The only negative I have is the dishes were not very clean, so you will want to wash everything before you use it, or bring your own.
We chose this location for the ease of view & safety for my father who is living with advanced Parkinsons Disease. Every year as a family, we have gone to a cottage. Last year, my dad found navigating long/uneven paths to the waters edge too difficult and unsafe, so we figured it wouldnt work this year. After a tough summer, my husband and I were determined to get my parents to a safe cottage where they could enjoy the water&views pote tially once last time together.
This cottage & location was PERFECT. He was able to walk in same level from the road and had everything he needed on one level; bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, deck and an amazing sunroom. The basement was a walkout, when when he felt up to it, he safely used the indoor stairs (with railings) and sat rigjt by the water soaking in the beautiful view. Such a quiet and serene space.
There is a gate at the top of the indoor stairs that we could close to make sure he didnt accidentally roam in the middle of the night. When my husband and I had a fire at night, my parents could sit in the sunroom and enjoy it with us without having to go outside. The screened in sunroom has amqzing views where he could enjoy the sights, sounds, and breeze when he didnt have the capacity to sit outside.
The water isnt deep enough for swimming off the dock, so my husband and i tethered two floaty donuts to the dock and floated in the warm water to enjoy the sun. We would rebook! Cottage needs more cups. Beds are short for tall people.
We had such a lovely stay at this cottage. We had a very cold week, but there was plenty to do.We took advantage of using the paddle boat a ton. It was nice to get out on the water even during the cooler days. It's not what we would call a "swimming lake". It's very shallow and there's lots of tall lake grass. We had such a nice spot to sit on the dock though and look for fish (there's lots). The sunroom is spectacular to still have the lakeside experience during cool or rainy days. I spent a lot of time in the sunroom. During the afternoons the sun pours in and it's nice and warm. The listing states that there are 2 queen beds in the lower level bedroom, but it is just one queen and a single. It didn't effect our stay and I did bring it up with the hosts. They said they notify larger groups that the second queen is the pull out couch in the next room.We didn't have access to laundry, although it is listed. But it didn't effect our stay. Just be sure to ask for the closet where it is located to be unlocked if your group needs it.A lot of people have complained in other reviews about the kitchenware. We found it to be great. If you want to cook anything fancy, you'll need to bring what you want, but there was everything we needed (plates, bowls, cutlery, tongs, cutting board, sharper knives, a baking sheet). The property is updated beautifully upkept and decorated a place to stay. Only a short drive to Lindsay or Bobcaygeon to get whatever you need.
First the cottage is beautiful, we were very disappointedthough I asked host if water shoes were needed, she said some do and some don't, however the picture of the water looked better than it actually was. It was full of weeds and rocks, so I feel like I was mislead into thinking you could go swimming, but YOU cannot! We all love to swim and had to drive 30 minutes away to be able too swim. I was so upset regarding this that i felt like crying. This was the only trip this year, next said it was fully stocked however there was one medium sized pot, 3 small fry pans and one baking sheet. Also no kettle so we had to use pot for everything. Thought there was propane in tank but was totally empty, we were supposed to fill it use it and left for next people. The amount I paid to stay there that should've been provided, we didn't fill it. I wouldn't recommend for anyone who wants to swim, if you own a boat etc and just want to fish than it would be ok. Oh also no water for 2 days as i believe system was broken, host was of no real help, we didn't use much water but woke up no water. She said it would fill up but didn't work well, should've been informed it's on well! All in all not a great experience but we tried to make the best out of it. Myself I don't need it to be beautiful but for it to have a true description of property, if there was I would never have rented this cottage.Sorry but I usually leave good reviews. Susan
