Great bach in central Kawhia

We enjoyed our stay in Kawhia - the bach is a great size for a small to medium family and has a nice sunny deck. Perfect location just a couple of minutes' walk to the waterfront.

Good Location

Nice compact place to stay, a bit rusty traditional kiwi bach with a fireplace. Our host was very easy to communicate. Only a few minutes walk to the wharf.

Classic Comfy Bach

We had a great time here with our young family and dog. The bach is a classic kiwi holiday home, renovated to keep it comfortable. Nicely decorated and maintained. Has all the amenities you need.Lots of great things to do in the area, including the hot water beach, fishing, Marakopa Falls and the natural bridge. Will recommend.

House was tidy and had all the amenities, futon fold out was in dining room area so sleeping where we ate was not ideal. Will book again with less people.

Lovely stay

We all enjoyed our stay very much! The fire was amazing for the freezing nights! Loved the tv and my son really enjoyed the toys. Only downside was the freezer stinking like fish bait and hadn’t been cleaned. But was minor and didn’t matter much. Will definitely be back!

Awesome weekend!

We had an awesome weekend in Kawhia. Roberta is a very friendly and welcoming host and we really loved the way she has done up the house, everything you need and a nice eye for details. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to spend a relaxed weekend in a quite environement and the beaches are so close. Also pet friendly, so we could bring our dog! Fresh fish a bonus!

Appreciated the quiet surroundings, the fire and the provision of the pre-cut logs and pine cones, the comfortable beds, the quality of the crockery, cutlery and utensils. The weather on the Saturday was hot, dry with not a cloud in sight so we fished from the wharf, which was only a few minutes away, and were rewarded with large trevally - caught on squid bait. Aotea beach was worth the 20 minute drive, fished for a while from the beach until it clouded over, returned to the bach just as it started raining, lit the fire, relaxed to play board games followed by our home cooked roast dinner. What a great way to spend three 'winter' days away, wish we had booked in for longer - will do next time! (A couple of notes: toilet seat needs attention, an outside light would be helpful and instructions for the tv.) Thank you Roberta for your friendliness and understanding and for letting us use your 'home away from home', we had a memorable time and hope we are able to visit again at a later date.
