This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place people don’t want to leave. Tucked along the quiet shoreline of Lincoln Lake, this private cottage has become something of a hidden gem. Guests regularly say the same thing before they leave: “WE WANT TO BUY THIS PLACE.” TheExperience: Mornings start slow—coffee on the porch, the lake still, birds moving through the trees. Afternoons are yours. Fish off the dock, take the kayaks out, read, stroll around the lake, or do nothing at all. Evenings are where it settles in—cool shade, fire pit going, the kind of quiet you didn’t realize you needed. This isn’t a busy, crowded lake, it’s peaceful, private, hard to find. What makes it different…Sits on 4 manicured lake lots , (rare for this area). Private dock, screened porch for year round comfort, Stone patio + fire pit for the evenings. Wildlife everywhere—eagles, deer, otters, owls, waterfowl, etc…. Everything here has been intentionally cared for—not just functional, but felt. Location: 20 minutes from Jack Daniels Distillery, 15 minutes to Pritchard Distillery, minutes to Elk River canoe access, close to hiking, but far from noise. Included: 2 kayaks and firewood. IMPORTANT: Quiet lake community—this is a place to relax, not party. No gas powered boats. Pet Fee: $100 (please clean up + minimize barking)

We stayed here so we could visit Falls Mill. Bluebird Rest was a good base to explore the area. My two kids (aged 6 and 3) loved the golf cart and the kayak.

Relaxing Getaway

This place is great for relaxing by the lake and kayaking. We enjoyed our evenings by the fire pit and mornings on the screened in porch. The cottage is very clean and had everything we needed for our getaway. The first time crossing the damn/spillway is a little unnerving but after a couple of times you get used to it. I highly recommend visiting Pritchards distillery, a short drive from the lake.

We just couldn’t get the fish to bite (as our 6 year old stomping around the dock haha). We only wish we got to cruise on the golf cart, but really no need to leave such a beautiful property!

Great Cottage by the lake

My grandson and I absolutely loved our stay at this quaint quiet cottage by the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit just feet from the lake listening to music and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. The inside is nicely decorated and very clean with an awesome view. The owners provided everything we needed!

Well-decorated and comfortable cottage in a beautiful, peaceful setting! We really enjoyed a respite at the cottage after the holiday season. The most relaxing place EVER

This was our 2nd time visiting Bluebird Rest & we plan to go again! The area & lake are so calm, quiet & peaceful. I could sit on the back deck on the swing & read for hours (days maybe?) or just enjoy the beautiful view. Everything looks just like in the pictures but even better in real life. If you want to get away to a quiet retreat, I highly recommend!!

An exceptional experience at Bluebird’s Rest

A wonderful relaxing week.

I rented this cabin while my son attended Space Camp. I could not have been more pleased. The owner was very hospitable abs friendly. My first morning she stopped by to say hello and gave me a dozen farm fresh eggs. She checked in periodically to see how things were going. The house is equipped very well and I will for sure be back next year!

We needed a nearby getaway for our birthday celebrations and found ‘Bluebird Rest’ located at tranquil Lincoln Lake via VRBO and what a great choice we made indeed!! 😊 The property, the spectacular views, the wonderful hostess, the sweet community and the beautiful nature that surrounded us was more than we could have asked for which made our get away trip even more special/memorable!! Definitely recommend you experience this on your own. We plan to do so again very soon!! (-:

Cute Cottage!!

My husband and I booked this cottage around plans to go to Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg TN. We loved the lake views, the screened in porch with big sliding doors for an indoor/oudoor living space, and the quaint home like feeling of this house with so much history and beautiful decor and landscaping too! We went to Jack Daniels as planned and spent time in the square in Lynchburg which was so nice and a close drive from this cottage but we couldn't wait to get back and relax on the porch and look out at the lake. We witnessed a bald eagle dive into the lake and catch a fish...so cool to see that! It rained all weekend but that just added to the coziness. Looking forward to returning again! Fayetteville is also close with a great tasting room for Big Creek Winery, amazing wine selection! Such a great area of TN to explore. Plenty to do and see...or just don't leave the cottage!
