Vintage Lake Ontario cottage built in 1902.

This cottage sits right on the south shore of Lake Ontario. Built in 1902 as a get away from the heat and bustle of the city this cottage was featured in Home and Garden magazine in the 1950's. We have completely remodeled and modernized with a functional quaint kitchen and modern bathrooms yet retaining its charm. It's easy walking distance from resturants and some of the best trout and salmon fishing in the world. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular! Niagara Falls is just an hour’s drive away as is famous Letchworth State Park known as “The Grand Canyon of the East”. Watch the ocean and lake freighters pass by on the horizon as well as the ducks, geese, swans and seagulls and the occasional sea hawk and bald eagle!

Cutest cabin almost like being on a boat!

The cabin is so charming and comfy cozy, the sun helped so we could enjoy the beautiful Lake Ontario literally out your back door We went down the river in the kayaks-Also provided. and just enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend, ate at the local restaurants we could walk to and felt very refreshed and relaxed

Just perfect. Dan could not have been more accommodating, the cottage is the most charming in which we have stayed, and the view is gorgeous. You truly cannot get any closer to the water. We hope to return next May!

House Boat on Lake Ontario!

Great spot so close to the water you feel like youre on a boat! Listening to the waves and water all night long is a treat! A few watering holes along with farm/fruit stands nearby are a plus. Highly recommend!

Quiet tranquility

Great place to unwind out of the way. This place is right on the lake. As noted in the listing, you will not have access to the water directly from the property. But a boat launch is within walking distance. Easy to lose track of time relaxing to the sound of the water and enjoying the lake breeze. This place is exceptionally clean. Kudos to the house cleaner.

Peace and relaxing

My daughter and her cousin, our doggie and I, also a friend came for visit for a night! Girls weekend! We had a lovely time with zero plans. Cooking and eating. Rock painting, walks, and enjoying the porches. The house was adorable with everything we needed. Even extra details like games and kayaks. But the view alone was enough! Was a perfect stay for a break from day to day to kick off the nice weather. Ps. It rained one day which made the lake exciting while we still had respite under the porches and views from all the sliding doors! Thanks so much!

Charming, CLEAN, and Comfortable

Beyond the charm of this Victorian cottage (with modern updates) and the unspoiled beauty of the lake; what hits you the moment you walk in the door is how immaculately clean it is!! A real treat was waking up, in the master bedroom, to the glorious sunrise coming in the window; and viewing the equally magnificent sunset from the deck. The wonderful upstairs bathroom was an unexpected luxury, and the downstairs half bath was greatly appreciated. The kitchen, while small, was functional, well equiped with good quality dishes, cookware, etc., and extremely well organized, The ceiling fan in the kitchen was almost as good as air conditioning. We were there during two excessively hot weeks, so we appreciated the air conditioners in the bedrooms, and the very comfortable beds. We were glad we brought some small oscillating fans for the downstairs rooms. The only negatives were a lack of a door on the smaller bedroom; and the rather scary top step with it's tiny landing (for which there may be no solution). Everything else was so perfect, we just learned to cope with the top of the stairs! We thank the Burlings for sharing their special haven on the lake!

Amazing

Our stay at captain Dan's lake house was wonderful. Description was spot on. Being able to use the kayak's was very nice especially for our children who enjoyed kayaking out on the lake. The house was absolutely spotless upon arrival with very helpful index cards. Lake house is wonderfully located a short driving distance to very nice little towns and just over an hour drive to Niagara falls out route 18 that is a georgeous drive. Lake house is within walking distance to the Black North Inn that is a wonderful spot to have dinner. We look forward to returning to this lake house next year.

All Around Great Experience

Just as pictured. Property on the waterfront. Very clean not cluttered but with just enough personality to be homey. I was impressed with the number of different heat sources, not that I needed heat in June. Dan was a joy to speak with. My additional family came to visit during the day. We all enjoyed the amenities and the deck. Would definitely return if ever in the area again.
