About Us:
Grouse Haven Cabin was built in 2003-2004 by the current owners. The cabin was named Grouse Haven because while we were building we could hear the Grouse birds in the area “drumming”. The cabin is secluded in a red pine forest with lots of Mother Nature in its surroundings. There are trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. There is also a picnic area located at the lower end of the 90-acre property that you can get to by hiking trails. The cabin is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with close proximity to Penn Yan, Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, 2-3 miles to Keuka Lake State Park, the Finger Lakes wineries, micro breweries, Keuka college, and more.

The cabin was exactly what we were hoping to find, very secluded yet close to everything we were planning to do. Very comfortable and with all the extra little touches that made it feel homey. We loved sitting and watching all of the wildlife around the bird feeder each morning while having breakfast. Phyllis was very accommodating and really goes the extra mile to make your stay perfect!

Exactly what we needed! Beautiful, clean and organized inside, calm, peaceful and secluded outside. Would definitely love to stay again. No issues, no worries, close to the lake and boat launch. Close enough to towns and restaurants but secluded enough that the only sounds you hear are nature. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the place!

Great setting

Nice cabin and great setting. We loved the privacy and nature that surrounded us. Couldn't find the trails that are listed on VRBO. It's better to go to Keuka Lake State park about 2-3 miles ago where they have marked trails

Great weekend getaway

We had a lovely time staying at Grouse Haven! It was secluded yet close enough to the wineries and breweries. The dogs enjoyed roaming the property and the fireplace inside the cabin added that homey feel.

Beautiful location

The two of us stayed here with our puppy. It was an absolutely amazing location. The cabin was perfect for a quiet and relaxing get away. The setting could not be more secluded allowing for the perfect location to unwind. We cannot wait to return to this property.

Relaxing retreat

My husband and I enjoyed our 3 night visit to Grouse Haven. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing. The surrounding area was beautiful and we enjoyed walking in the snow covered woods on the property. We enjoyed our time at Grouse Haven so much that we hated to leave. Phyllis was a delight to get to know and was very helpful to us. We can’t wait to make a return visit to this lovely property.
