It is a comfortable base for a couple traveling light but wanting the beach woven into every day.

Guests at Sugar Beach Resort enjoy access to the shared communal pool, hot tub, and BBQ grills right along the shore in Kihei. The building offers an elevator, disabled parking spot, and accessible-height features for easy access. Beach access and landscaped grounds with a garden round out the on-site amenities.



The Neighborhood:

North Kihei is especially good for couples who like a calmer coast without giving up access to the rest of South Maui. Sugar Beach gives you room for a long shoreline walk, while Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge provides a quieter inland stop. Maalaea Harbor and Maui Ocean Center are nearby for a change of pace. Drive south when you want the cafés, casual meals, and livelier beach-park scene around Kamaole Beach Park III, then return to a less busy stretch of coast.



Getting Around:

Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
