Makedonia Palace

"Rooms were large and well maintained. The pool area was small, but the pool itself nice and large. The gym was a decent size, but quite a low ceiling and as a tall person, it meant I couldn't use the treadmills as my head would have hit the ceiling. Breakfast was very nice. My only complaint is the stinginess around water and coffee. You got 4 Nespresso pods and one bottle of water. Any additional you had a note that would have been charged. For a 5* hotel this smarted a bit and felt more like a 3* style action."

"Great location. Right in the center of town and walking distance from the old harbor, Aristotle square, food and shopping. Rooms are small but well equipped. A bit tight for a couple with luggage but manageable. Nice breakfast. No parking. Hotel offers valet parking for 30 EUR per night which is in line with cost of parking in the nearest garage (10 minutes walk)."

"fabulous location, you can walk to everything. refreshingly clean & quiet; also a comfortable bed. i was grateful that the staff hauled all my luggage, they had a map and the front desk person explained everything and where to go and what to see. there were enough towels & shower supplies as well."

"Very nice hotel and centrally located. Felt safe for two ladies traveling and we both very much enjoyed the breakfast they supplied. The room we stayed in was nice & big--had a main room with a king bed and then a second smaller room with a queen. All in all, this property was quite lovely! The only thing that was odd was not having a shower. There was a large, strong powered jacuzzi tub within the bathroom, but just a hand sprayer attached to it. I guess standing showers aren't super common in Greece, as this was the second property we stayed in that had this situation. Just a little different to have to sit down in a bathtub to spray yourself down and shower. I'd get better at it if I stayed longer for sure. Lovely property though and I do recommend!"

"It’s all about the roof terrace and pool! It’s an easy 20 to 30 mins walk to most main sites and sea front although there are better located hotels in the same price range and cheaper. Breakfast is a great choice although seating is all inside and feels like a canteen rather than a 4 star hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean and air con good although the decor is dated. The absolute star of the show is the roof terrace and pool and bar. And that’s why we’d choose this hotel again and again. If you want the outside space then this is the hotel for you. Staff up there are super friendly and helpful and really look after you."
