We rented the attic rooms from Ian and Bernice. It was two rooms, one side had a king bed and bathroom and the other side had a kitchen and living area. Everything was new and well done. The bed was comfortable and nice and the shower was amazing, very nice water pressure. The apartment had AC and an attic fan and so we were very comfortable even in the heat wave. The apartment was very quiet and well insulated and didn’t even hear the other apartments below us even once. The clip clop of the jaunting cars goin into town in the morning was about the only noise we heard and we thought it was endearing and classic for the town.
We didn’t have a car, but the apartment was close to all the things we did. We did a wonderful hike from the apartment up to Lord Brandon’s Cottage and then took the traditional boats back to Ross Castle and then walked the mile and a half back to the apartment, that was a nice loop activity.
We ate at Bricin’s for one dinner and we loved it. The owner greets you and is the warmest man in the world. Talks to everyone as they arrive and as they leave. We ordered the Boxti with two different fillings and thought they were amazing. I liked the lamb one better then the chicken, but both were really good.
Our only complaint and maybe it’s one left over from Covid time is that the kitchen didn’t have a lot of cooking basics like salt and pepper and sugar and oil, although it did have everything else that was needed. Very nice amount of cookware and dishes.
Ian and Bernice were very attentive and lovely and got back to us immediately with any issues that came up or things we needed clarification on.
Very nice stay and would highly recommend.
