Book this cottage if you want to experience real old world Ireland. Absolutely amazing. Just landed in Dallas Texas and missing it already. Will definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family.

Fantastic Property

Family trip to Ireland
Cute, traditional Irish cottage! We loved all of the photos and neat antiques in the home. Cottage was well cleaned and exterior gardens and patio areas were amazing. Wish we had more time and dry weather to sit and enjoy coffee on the back deck. Kids loved the hot tub! We appreciated having a clothes dryer. There were plenty of extra blankets and towels. Communication was always quick and very helpful. Location was great for all of our day trips. We would return again!

Cutest little Irish Cottage WITH HOT TUB
This was exactly what we were looking for and more! The cutest little cottage, which was actually very spacious and comfortable, had so much character, but also had modern amenities including the most delightful hot tub. Great shower also. Loved our stay. Would add that the wifi only reached to the kitchen, so wouldn't be ideal for someone who needed to really work, but for holiday it was great!

From the start communication and the plans went smoothly- This cottage was more than what we could have hoped for. The amazing fireplace prepared and ready to go with Irish Turf. Picture perfect Irish stay!
We couldn't have asked for more!! Mary Rose cottage is the exact thatched roof cottage I picture when I think of Ireland! The half doors and beautiful gardens just add to it!! We enjoyed the hot tub and even through some true Irish rain drops! Delightful! It was so inviting to be greeted at check in with a fire going and everything. Thank you for offering such a sweet and secluded Irish experience for us! And thank you for the special honeymoon treats! It was perfect!

Perfect Place for a Perfect Vacation
This vacation has been in the planning for over a year. I booked the Cottage Mary Rose over a year ago for a three week getaway to a genuine old time Irish Cottage in a small country town in county Kerry. We’ve been to Ireland before but both times on the quick traveler see everything vacation. Our desire this time was to settle down and experience the Irish lifestyle in the country. All the pictures on the site still don’t do the cottage justice as to how quickly you feel at home and settled in. We spent three glorious weeks exploring at a leisurely pace and getting to meet many local citizens and business people. Walked to church, shopped at local grocery store and had a few pints at Hughes Bar. The neighboring town of Castleisland has many restaurants and pubs. We became regulars at Pat’s Cafe for breakfast and a late lunch. The food is simply as good as any you can find in all of Ireland. We thank William for creating a special place in the Cottage Mary Rose and Mary and Mike for making sure everything is perfect for the guests. I can say with certainty we will be back.

My family and I were delighted with Cottage Mary Rose. Very comfortable, charming and well kept. The deck and grounds were beautiful. Easy parking and Mary and Michael were very responsive. Nearby Castleisland had everything you could need.Easy day trips to Dingle, Galway and Cliffs of Moher.

Great location and amazing property!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage was centrally located to many towns and attractions with a very cozy atmosphere. We loved the hot tub, stream, and beautiful gardens. The local pub was also a great highlight!

My Irish Dream Came True!
I had been dreaming of staying at Cottage Mary Rose for a number of years. My Irish dream finally came true in time for us to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary at Cottage Mary Rose. The photos on the website could not express the rush of feelings I experienced as Mary and Mike took us through the cottage when we arrived on 31 August 2022. Those feelings were that I was home, that for the next 8 days I could experience what my Irish ancestors must have felt living their lives in the beautiful southwest of Ireland. I could write about the cottage being in a great location for daytrips by car to Killarney, Dingle, and Cork, or about the lovely gardens (especially the roses) and babbling creek surrounding the cottage, or the starlit nights spent in the hot tub toasting each other with "slainte is tainte". Before we knew it, it was time to leave Cordal for LaHinch. As we passed through the red door, and the red gate, for the last time, we knew how our ancestors must have felt when they left their Irish home for the last time, to head for a new home. But unlike those ancestors, we will be returning to our Irish home - Cottage Mary Rose.

Lovely cottage.
This beautiful thatched roof cottage is beautifully maintained and immaculate. Lovely garden. It is on a busy street so I wouldn’t recommend walking even a short distance as there is no sidewalk. We had an amazing time in incredible County Kerry.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. The Cordal Road ( Olde Butter Road) is a main farm road and very safe for pedestrians. The locals as well as ourselves use it all of the time. Hughe’s Pub, Kearney’s Grocery and the church are all just a five minute walk.

Dream of a lifetime
If you ever wondered how our Irish ancestors lived ,this property will help you to understand.As a youngster I spent time every summer at my grandparents house in Chicago. They both came from county Kerry and this cottage in county Kerry made me feel what their life may have been like before they.left for America.The beauty of the place is that all the upgrades like a hot tub, a Hugh jetted tub, plenty of hot water, a dishwasher,etc do not detract from the essential feel of the place.

A gem, you won't want to go home.
This cottage is the ultimate chill out stay, its cute, cosy, warm, fun and beautiful. The flowers in the garden, the hottub over the bubbling River below, the huge open fire, how near it is to everywhere youd like to explore in Kerry. We cancelled a few day trips to just stay in the cottage and relax.. And it was sooooo glorious. Xx hope im lucky enough to get the pleasure to visit again. Xx

Amazing stay in a beautiful location
My partner and I had an amazing stay in this beautiful cottage, we were so sad to leave! We are newly engaged and couldn’t have thought of a better place to celebrate! The cottage was spotless, with lovely touches like fresh bread, crisps and chocolate on arrival! The hot tub was amazing and we loved the peaceful setting outside with the sound of the birds and the stream. We would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat and the hosts were very helpful and prompt in any queries we had!

Cottage is so quaint and comfy . If you want to get back to old Ireland this is the place . It had amazing old features including an Aga in the kitchen which gave unreal heat and lovely to cook in. The gardens and decking outside beside the stream is absolutely breath taking and gets you back to nature We had a small issue with the hot tub when we arrived but the property managers Denis and Eileen couldn't have been nicer and more helpful such nice people and got it going again and checked on us every so often to see if we needed anything. All in all it's a little treasure in the heart of Kerry

Lovely stay in the Kerry Countryside
Quiet, character property with modern amenities. The super king bed was comfortable, showers, bath tub and hot tub were wonderful. Cooking on a AGA was a bit of an adventure but we got the hand of it. Only half an hour from several major natural attractions. And pet friendly :)

It’s the kind of holidays where everything could have gone wrong from finding property to things. It working but everything went right: jacuzzi perfect, really hot water , charming beautifully decorated cottage and friendly pub near.

We have done our best with the cottage to insure warmth, plenty of hot water and increased water pressure. We believe that our guests should have some thing better than even a hotel can offer. The Jacuzzi in the main bath is great and of course the hot tub on the deck is always a hit. We are blessed to have Hugh's Bar with in a 5 minute walk from the cottage. What a beautiful and warm inviting atmosphere. The manager and his wife were great. They even baked brown bread and had it waiting for us when we arrived. If you want old Irish traditional home comfort with modern convenience this is the place to stay.

Perfect spot for a week-long getaway in the country
I booked this property because of the AGA-style cooker. After our visit to this beautiful cottage, we fell in love with Ireland, particularly County Kerry. William was very communicative during our stay, and the caretaker, Dennis was outstanding. There were some issues with electricity service before our arrival so the cottage was a little chilly, but Dennis had communicated the entire day. When we arrived he had a fire roaring and the cottage was nice and toasty. The rooms were very comfortable and the cottage has anything you need for a retreat to the country. Do visit Hugh’s pub for a pint and Garvey’s grocery in Castleisland for all your supplies. Both are great! The gardens and hot tub at the property are stunning. William has done a great job here! The location of Mary Rose is ideal for visiting many great places in Ireland; we saw much of the Ring of Kerry, Killarney National Park, Killarney town, the Dingle peninsula (this is a must-see!), Cork, Limerick, Blarney Castle, and so many more! Williams recommendations are great, so do take him up on them. Book this cottage for a cozy, relaxing trip to one of the most beautiful places on earth!

We knew this place was special before we arrived, but still could not believe how amazing the house and gardens were. Visiting from the USA, it felt like staying in a museum. We were fascinated to hear it was at one time a rambling house. The gardens were beautiful, and at night with their subtle lighting, were magical. The welcoming vibe was impressive. The caretakers greeted us with freshly baked bread and then left us to be, unless we needed them. We highly recommend this house!

Perfect haven in a quiet and peaceful location
The cottage is amazing, beautifully maintained inside and out. A really nice mix of traditional and modern, in such a really peaceful location. We stayed for just a couple of days but it was really enjoyable, very well located to get to the best that this region has to offer. The gardens are really well maintained and it feels so wonderfully remote (but is in striking distance of town). Highly recommend a visit to Mary Rose Cottage in Coral.

The Mary Rose Cottage is a lovely traditional thatched cottage, upgraded with modern amenities. The entire home is warm and comfortable, with a large kitchen to cook in as well as many places to relax. My kids loved the hot tub! The caretakers Dennis and Eileen were so helpful and friendly (and provided the most wonderful brown bread). Would highly recommend!

Cottage Mary Rose is the epitome of all that is Irish: thatched roof, fireplace, farmhouse sink, wooden floor. But very much modern: king size bed, hot tub, internet. Perfect base for day trip to Dingle or Kerry Loop. Perfect also for staying put and reading. Eileenmary and Denis were very welcoming, complete with food basket and information about the cottage. Excellent caretakers. Cottage Mary Rose has been restore to a very comfortable level of the classic Irish countryside home. Perfect spot.

It was a perfect Irish cottage!
This place was perfect for our group of 4 Adults (two couples) and two young children, 9 and 11 years of age. The care take Dennis was a great guy who explained the workings of the house in person and in great detail. He was considerate and checked on us when the power was out in the area. His wife made us some lovely brown bread. The peat fire was great, stove worked fine and the hot tub was a great touch. This cottage really brings you back to a time gone bye but with all modern conveniences. Nearby Castleisland has every thing you need and go visit Geraldine at Con's bar, for great food and drink. The kids, and all of us, enjoyed the garden, stream and birds. We used the cottage as a base for exploring the Dingle peninsula and Killarney National Park. Our only regret was not having a couple more days there.

We had a wonderful time...can't recommend this house enough...its in the country but close to a lot...Denis and Eileen are so helpful...and our stay started with a loaf of homemade Irish bread...the grounds are stunning...the hot tub was great ... Hughes Pub was a very friendly, welcoming place...theres a little grocery store right down the street for last minute items you may need...everything about Cottage Mary Rose rocked...

That is great that you were able to go to Kearney's Grocery and Hugh's. We are blessed to have them right there!! Quintessential Ireland!
Had a great stay at Mary Cottage Rose. If you're looking for charm and character this is a great place to stay. Very peaceful and walks around the country very relaxing. There is a small store close by and Hugh's pub within walking distance. Enjoyed a night in the hot tub and cooking great food. Nice central location to getting to highlights of Ring of Kerry and Killarney. Our hosts Eileen and Dennis were really helpful to us in finding places to eat and things to do!

Beyond Amazing!!
The pictures looked wonderful when booking, but do not do the cottage justice. Seeing it in person was breathtaking!! Walking in the door we were shocked on how cozy and beautiful it was!! I sat in the gardens every morning enjoying my coffee while the kids enjoyed the hot tub. Bedding was extremely comfortable. So comfortable I purchased a new comforter when I returned home to try and duplicate the feel of the bedding at the cottage! I plan to return again in 2020 and am hoping to stay here again! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

Charming property in great location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and charming in a great location to explore County Kerry and environs (Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Killarney National Park). Very helpful and responsive owner and caretakers, as well as a friendly pubkeeper down the street.

A peaceful, unique experience,

We do have many guest that return to the cottage. It is an embracing cottage and astually has a large feel with the cathedral and vaulted ceilings. Considered a Long cottage. Cozy and spacious....

House was great. My dad was born and raised in a house just like this one in Castleisland. It was great to take my kids there to show them what it was like to live in ireland.

Quaint and comfortable; good location for exploring Kerry
I had read the reviews for Cottage Mary Rose when I booked our stay for our first trip to Ireland and thought it lovely. However, it exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, Denis, the caretaker was there to greet us and brought homemade bread his wife had made as well as other goodies. The cottage is so quaint and inviting. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us (myself, my husband, our 20 yr old son and my mother), and the beds are very comfortable. There is a beautiful deck with hot tub overlooking a stream and the beautiful garden. The cottage was a perfect location to make day trips to Killarney National Park, Muckross House and Ring of Kerry. Castleisland is close by and has grocery stores and restaurants. Hughes Pub is within walking distance of the cottage and the people were so warm and friendly. In retrospect, had I to do it over, I would have booked it for longer than 3 nights.

Lovely restored rustic cottage
Comfortable and cozy. Great place to return to after a day of exploring. Great base for day trips.Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and listening to the creek at night. Caretakers are friendly and can offer helpful suggestions. Wish we had stayed longer! We loved that we weren't stuck in the crowded tourist areas.Would definitely return!
