About this property

Adorable Cabin 5-min walk to beach! Dog friendly!

  • Snowflake Cabin is a lovingly restored 1959 log cabin where original log walls meet a thoughtfully updated interior.

Tucked into a quiet Tahoe Vista neighborhood bordering a pocket of California Tahoe Conservancy land, it`s a 4-minute walk to Moon Dune Beach, with more beaches, restaurants and coffee within walking distance. Kings Beach is 3 minutes by car and Northstar 10–15 minutes away.

Sleeps up to six across two bedrooms and two bathrooms; one well-behaved dog welcome (crate required if left alone).

    The space
Snowflake Cabin pairs its 1959 log-cabin bones with a freshly curated interior- vintage-inspired furniture, original graphic art, and warm modern comforts throughout.
King bedroom with massage chair and electric fireplace
Second bedroom with queen bed plus twin bunks
    Two full bathrooms
Cozy living room with gas fireplace heating
    Fully equipped kitchen
Large wraparound deck with lounge and dining furniture
    Covered outdoor sitting area
California Tahoe Conservancy land directly beside the cabin
Pack ’n Play, high chair, and children’s toys and books
Games and puzzles for cozy nights in
Fast wifi, washer dryer, self check-in

The layout comfortably sleeps six, best suited to four adults and two comfortable in twin bunks. The wraparound deck gives you plenty of room to spread out, and just beside the cabin sits a small parcel of California Tahoe Conservancy land- mature pines and granite boulders that give Snowflake a tucked-away feel, with glimpses of Lake Tahoe through the trees.
    PLACER COUNTY STR26-9950 TOT #624850
    Guest access
Guests have private use of the entire cabin and wraparound deck throughout their stay. Free on-site parking is available for two vehicles in the driveway. Street parking is not permitted. A few utility and storage areas are locked for owner and housekeeping use.

    Other things to note
Snowflake is a genuine 1959 mountain cabin, not a newly built luxury condo. We’ve intentionally preserved original log walls and character while updating furnishings and amenities- expect some of the quirks and irregularities that come with a vintage mountain home.
No air conditioning. Summer nights in Tahoe are generally cool; fans and nighttime ventilation help keep the cabin comfortable.
Winter weather can affect roads, parking and outdoor spaces. Guests are responsible for checking conditions and complying with any chain or traction requirements.
Power or internet outages can occasionally occur in mountain communities during severe weather.
This is the Sierra Nevada: tall trees, mountain air and plenty of wildlife. Bears, coyotes, squirrels, chipmunks and other mountain creatures share the neighborhood, so encounters are possible and food should never be left outside.
Tahoe Tap water is some of the best in the country- bring your refillable water bottle
Please respect our neighbors and all Placer County short-term rental rules, including quiet hours and parking restrictions.

    Where You’ll be
    Neighborhood highlights
Snowflake Cabin sits in a quiet Tahoe Vista neighborhood on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore, with beaches, trails, restaurants and coffee all within walking distance.

Several beaches are an easy walk away, including Moon Dune Beach and Sandy Beach (our favourite- across from Pep’s Place).

A neighborhood trailhead is just a 5-minute walk away. North Tahoe Regional Park (5-minute drive) offers hiking and biking trails, a playground, dog park, pickleball and tennis courts, and disc golf. Tahoe Vista Recreation Area (8 minute walk) has its own beach, swimming and a boat launch.

North Tahoe Regional Park (5-minute drive) offers hiking and biking trails, a playground, dog park, pickleball and tennis courts, and disc golf. Tahoe Vista Recreation Area (8 minutes) has its own beach, swimming and a boat launch.

Kings Beach is about 3 minutes by car for more dining and beach options, Northstar 10–15 minutes, Incline Village and Tahoe City around 15 minutes, and Palisades Tahoe roughly 25–30 minutes, depending on traffic and conditions.

    Getting around
Walking works well for the immediate Tahoe Vista neighborhood, lake and nearby food and drink options.

For trips farther around the North Shore, guests can drive, use the regular TART bus service nearby or request TART Connect, the area`s free on-demand shuttle service.
Winter travel times can vary significantly with weather and ski traffic.

A car is useful for skiing and exploring farther around Lake Tahoe, but you don`t necessarily need to use it every time you leave the cabin, especially in summer.
Hello and welcome! We want all of our guests to enjoy their stay in our home. Before confirming your reservation, please review the House Rules & Policies below to ensure this home is a good fit for your guests.

    *** IMPORTANT NOTICE ***
By proceeding with the reservation and entering the property, Guest(s) and all other persons material to the reservation acknowledge and accept the following Rules & Policies, without exception.

    01. Check-In / Check-Out Policy
Whenever possible, we will be happy to accommodate early check-in and late check-out requests, within reason. In June, July, August, and during Holidays, this may not always be possible, but please do ask. Unauthorized late check-outs will result in a Schedule Interruption Fee of $150 per hour. 02. Maximum Occupancy
The total number of Guests MAY NOT EXCEED A MAXIMUM TOTAL OF FOUR (4) ADULTS AND TWO (2) CHILDREN FOR A MAXIMUM TOTAL OF SIX (6) PERSONS OF ANY AGE AT ANY TIME. Occupancy limitations are governed by City and County ordinances, as well as Fire Department regulations. Violations of this policy place the Property Owner’s Short Term Rental Permit at risk. Should the maximum occupancy exceed the limitations at any time during your stay, an immediate $1,500 per additional person County Ordinance Penalty Fee will be assessed, your reservation will be immediately terminated, and you will forfeit all fees paid.

    03. Pet Policy
THIS PROPERTY IS EXEMPT FROM PERMITTING ANY ANIMAL OTHER THAN NO MORE THAN ONE (1) DOG. No cats, birds, etc., irrespective of their class as a service or support animal are prohibited due to property owner’s allergies. The appropriate exemption documentation is on file with the applicable booking platform.

****** Your dog must be crated if left in the house alone for more than 10 minutes. Guests are responsible for providing the dog crate for this purpose.
****** Barking, howling, crying, and/or other prolonged noise is prohibited at all times and specifically while the dog is left in the house alone. This neighborhood and the Tahoe Community in general, are VERY sensitive to pet owners who do not pick up their pets’ waste or “leave the baggie to be picked up on the way back”. It is against the ordinances of Placer, Nevada, Eldorado, and Washoe County to leave pet waste anywhere (even in the forest). Due to the sanitary nature of our cleaning service’s responsibilities, an additional $125 pet waste removal fee will be charged if a pet waste complaint is received regarding your stay or if pet waste is found anywhere on the property.

    04. Maximum Parking
This home allows a maximum of two (2) vehicles. Street parking is not available in this neighborhood and additionally may not be permitted by local laws. Guest(s) accept full responsibility for vehicle damage, theft, fines, or loss while on or off the property.

Should a violation of this policy occur, an immediate $500 violation fee will be assessed, your reservation will be immediately terminated, and you will forfeit all fees paid.

    06. Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are between 9 PM and 8 AM. Quiet is defined as the absence of voices, music, and other noises anywhere outside of the residence. The County Ordinance Enforcement Officers and the neighboring community are extremely sensitive to the strict enforcement of this policy. Response to a noise violation report may result in a $1,500 County Ordinance Violation Fee. In addition, should a violation of this policy occur, your reservation will be immediately terminated, and you will forfeit all fees paid.

    07. Trash & Recycling
This is bear country. We love and respect them, and everyone must accept responsibility for keeping them alive and the property damage-free. The Lake Tahoe Community is highly sensitive about the responsible disposal of trash and any type of wildlife attractant(s). Local residents routinely report violators to the local Sheriff’s Department, without warning. Bears that enter a residence, garage, or vehicle are subject to euthanasia by the Department of Fish & Game. Please know that it is against State Law to leave any type of trash or wildlife attractant unattended. Therefore, all trash and recycling must always be securely placed inside a locked metal container (e.g., bear box or dumpster). Overflow garbage and recycling must be taken off-site by the Guests and never left in a garage, vehicle, near a door or window, or any other unsecured outdoor location. Guests assume financial responsibility for all violations of the law. Local and State fines for improper storage and/or disposal range between $1,500 and $5,000 per occurrence. In addition, should a violation of this policy occur, your reservation will be immediately terminated, you will forfeit all fees paid, and the Property Owners will be entitled to reimbursement by the Guests for loss of revenue due to revocation of their Short Term Rental Permit.
