I always enjoy staying at the Hochelaga. Close to great restaurants, nice property, comfy bed, great breakfast and free parking. My only complaint is that the rooms are not soundproof so you hear a lot from adjoining rooms. Luckily it was very quiet at night.

We had a lovely stay! The staff was helpful and friendly, Lucas especially. Breakfast was okay, the continental options were nice but I don’t know if I would have the paid (we did the savoury option) breakfast again. For $8 it was okay but I would have sent it back if I had paid $20 off the street. Our room was comfortable and fairly quiet, we lucked in and got parking which was nice! Overall, a lovely stay.

Nice property overall. Though cute room, deceivingly small and dated. TV didn’t work properly. No cushions provided for patio use. No in room coffee maker. Therefore, considered low value for money.

I really enjoy the way the building is laid out. It was a last minute booking and they were truly accommodating. I never felt like they were pushing me out and even invited me to stay longer after check-out as I waited for an appointment. It is a bit noisy as it's an old building so there are some thin walls. Even then I was so tired I didn't even notice. I would stay again.

A lovely historic building, in a good area for walking downtown. Very comfortable accommodation and the staff were very helpful. We would certainly stay again.

Great Spot but Two Issues
Love the Hoch. Stayed there nany times. However, breakfast should run longer than 10 on a Sunday, and the shower was outright dangerous with a false bottom that sank and moved around. Not goid.

The property is located in a great location, walkable to lots of great restaurants, shopping, bars, the lake, the hospital, and the university. The beds are quite comfortable and the rooms are clean and appointed in keeping with the Victorian vibe of the property. There are about 9 or 10 parking spaces available (on a first come, first served basis) at no extra charge and there is a municipal parking lot across the street from those spaces which is free on weekends and on weekday evenings. The breakfast that is included is a cold buffet breakfast. There is toast, yogurt, pastries, cold cuts, cheese. There are also bagels and bread along with a toaster for guests to use if they choose. To drink, there is water, juices, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. It is possible to purchase a plated breakfast for $7.99. The breakfast setup has changed since this time last year when there was table service provided and a choice of two hot meals was offered. Rooms are not serviced during one's stay but guests can see the reception desk to request items such as fresh towels, toiletries, etc. It should be noted that the reception is not available 24/7 so items need to be requested between the hours of 7:30 am and 9:30 pm.

Comfortable stay and well located
It's a lovely house and our room (twin beds) was sufficiently roomy. Floorboards creaked a bit (like most old buildings) making it hard to get up quietly in the morning but the beds were very comfortable. The optional hot breakfast was very good. The location is excellent with a number of restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Undercover parking is limited but very convenient when available.

This is a charming small old hotel in a residential neighbourhood 10 mins walk from shops & restaurants & 30 mins walk from Kingston Pen. Room was very warm & cosy & lots of hot water & soft towels. The lady that checked us in was very helpful. My only small negative comment would be the continental breakfast which is included in the room rate. We went down for breakfast 2 days at the same time - the first day the buffet was full & the second it was almost empty. Also there was only one clear table in the breakfast room. Other than this our stay was 1st class & we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We really liked it in 2920. The room and the breakfast was perfect. This time was a disappointment. We asked for a balcony room, not realizing how small it would be. The breakfast was ok, but we got spoiled in 2020.

I really liked the recent renovations they’ve done to the inn. We got an upgraded suite which was excellent and very spacious. The receptionists were very pleasant, nice to talk too and very accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and free parking always help

This property is showing its age. It is tired and is not worth the money despite the excellent location. I was unhappy to see that they now charge for a breakfast that was included when i stayed last year
