About this property

Lancaster co. farmhouse in the heart of amish country

  • This country home is nestled in the heart of Amish Country in beautiful Southern lancaster county, Pennsylvania. The property is located in a farm setting on a quiet country road, excellent for walking/biking through some of lancaster county's most beautiful farmland. We are located within 20 minutes of most major area attractions, outlets,Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, Sight and Sound Theatre. One hour from Hershey Pennsylvania. and Philadelphia.
    10 min drive from here is wolfs hollow park great for hiking and walking, and moccasin Run golf course.

    Our 1800's home features a fully stocked kitchen, living room, and dining room with small kitchette. The larger of its two bedrooms has two queen-sized beds. The smaller has a king size bed. we also have a futon available. We provide the linens and towels. 3 bathrooms one with clawfoot tub, the other 2 have showers.


    For a quiet country getaway Miriam's Guest House is a great retreat for your family or small group. Enjoy relaxing on the front porch swing, playground for the kids, grill out on the patio, evenings enjoy sitting around the campfire. In the winter months and cool evenings enjoy cozying up to the wood burning fireplace. Feel free to say Hi to the many animals on our farmette, we have a horses, Jenny the friendly donkey that roams the premises at times, sandy, the pony and Ethel our Scottish highlander cow.



    Grab your fresh homegrown vegetables and fruits from nearby produce stands and stop by to pick up groceries and bulk foods from our local Amish stores,

    we live on the same property, but we give you your space and privacy..

Beautiful cozy restored old farmhouse

We enjoyed our stay very much for a girls getaway. Not far from all the shopping and activities in Lancaster area. Cozy, peaceful place to stay. Enjoyed a fire in the fireplace. Plenty of space for 4 friends to relax. Highly recommend.

Lovely spot

If you're going all the way to Amish country you might as well stay at a nice rural property like this one. It's away from the traffic and noise, has nice views, friendly animals and welcoming hosts. The house has lots of character and is well appointed.

Quiet retreat

Mother’s Day weekend retreat with my daughter, mother and mother in law. The four of us were very comfortable and had plenty of space indoor and outdoor to enjoy ourselves. The weather was perfect for sitting outside on the balcony or the below courtyard patio. Gardens and farm were a pleasant view and we enjoyed watching the young mules play as well as the donkey, pony, dogs and of course the highland cow. We spent the day shopping around the various markets and shops, spent the evenings at local eateries and enjoyed quiet nights talking and spending quality time together. Sight and sound weekend

We stayed for a weekend getaway. 4 adults and 3 kiddos and we had plenty of space. The experience was absolutely Perfect and more than I had even expected. The property, animals and swing set kept the kids so busy we didn’t even end up leaving the house on our off day. The property was clean and updated while still keeping the charm of the original home. The host was quick in response and very helpful along the way when we had some questions. Great Place

Love this property and the owners. They are very friendly with great communication. This is our second trip back and we enjoyed it as much as our first. My little guy enjoys the time with the animals and getting to feed them is a plus. Great memories and definitely will be back next year.

Beautiful property and kind people

Mim and Omar were excellent hosts. Their property is expertly maintained and their guest house has an abundance of character. Everything was clean and well stocked. The property is rural and quiet. We took a walk around the "block" (1.94mi) and met some of their neighbors. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. Great place to stay while visiting Sight & Sound theater.

Absolute gem!

This beautiful home boasts all kinds of rustic charm. With 2 bedrooms and 3 baths, it is very accommodating for various size groups. Mim keeps everything spotless and so homey. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle so be prepared to drive to many points of interest but the solitude is well worth it.

What a lovely property. The house is super adorable and extremely clean. Very nicely stocked and equipped with everything you need. Great hostest

My family very much enjoyed our visit to Lancaster. Miriam was a wonderful host, we enjoyed meeting both her and her family. The house was very clean with most anything you might need. Very comfortable beds with made for a good nights rest for the next days adventures. We also enjoyed meeting and feeding Ethel the Scottish Highlander cow, Sandy the pony and Jenny the donkey. Miriam was very helpful with sharing her knowledge of the area with suggestions of places to visit, eat and just places to ride and view the beautiful countryside.

Our trip to the Lancaster area wouldnt have been as great without this amazing place to stay. Our host was great and the property was beautiful. Lots of time and places to take a deep breath and relax. We went to Sight and Sound which wasnt far from the farm and also went to a concert in Baltimore one night just over an hour away. It was great to meet our new farm friends and give them treats (ask permission). If you are looking for a home base in the Lancaster area, this is it. Kids would really enjoy the location. Lots of games available and special loft areas for them to sleep.. Top notch!

Mini Vacation

We had an absolutely lovely and very relaxing time at this property. We rent properties like this everytime we come to Lancaster and this one was the most nostalgic. Loved the quiet area, sitting on the porch, and listening to the clippity clop of the horse and buggies going down the back country road. Location was perfect. Also enjoyed interacting with the farm animals especially Zoey the Dalmation. The home was clean and comfortable. We did get our exercise as the home does have three levels and the steps are steep. Our hosts Omar and Mim were very accomadating and easy to communicate with about any issues. We would definitely stay here again.

Best relaxing vacation

This is not our first time here, we stayed with my kids and my in-laws, this house is just so beautiful and cozy, even my teens found themselves reading books and falling asleep by the fireplace, we all enjoyed the peaceful farm surroundings, took walks around the neighborhood, played and pet all the awesome animals, went to local stores and ate some fresh veggies and Amish made foods, we just feel so comfortable and relax every time we are there, the owners are absolutely lovely and accommodating, truly wonderful people. We feel blessed to be able to have a vacation that is not just a place to sleep but an amazing experience overall. We recommend this place 110%. Thank you, from the Heidingers.

Country Hideaway

House was quaint old place that has been beautifully redone. It is out in the country and nice and peaceful. Layout of house was as described in listing but still a little awkward that both showers aren’t on the same floor with the bedrooms. There is a full bath with a beautiful stand-alone tub on the same floor with the bedrooms so if baths are your thing then it’s perfect. Owner was very nice and responsive throughout the whole process!

So relaxing!!!

Quaintness meets modern. The farmhouse has all the charm of the 1800’s but the modern touches of the 21st century. Neither is over done. It was impeccably clean. Everything worked well. We only met Omar but everything else was self-explanatory. Their Dalmatian dog was amazing. So friendly. We felt our blood pressure drop as soon as we arrived. Well done!!!
